I have two teapots. One has a cracked spout. I keep telling myself I can glue it but once you glue it you really can't use it. Plus *I* don't want this teapot anymore (it has a bad association for me - WHY have I kept it for 10 years?).
The other teapot has no lid. I kept it because my aunt said it was some famous maker or something (the dreaded "but it's worth something!"). But the thing is, it's NOT worth something if it's got no lid and has cracks. It's not so rare that it's worth keeping in this condition (I'm not saying I'd throw out a Ming vase because of a crack yk?). I googled and found a complete teapot (same maker, different design), with lid, for $75 so no, one without a lid, with cracks in the bottom, is not worth keeping, right?
And I wouldn't feel right donating things like this to my Aunt's church sale or to Goodwill. So . . . . . . . . please tell me it's ok to toss them in the garbage!
(or offer to come to my house and pick them up because you really want a cracked, lid-less Stangl teapot

P.S. I put them on freecycle just in case there are some diehard collectors who want these. So please tell me it's ok to toss these if, in a few days, no one from freecycle wants them.
