Ok, so a week or so back, I was browsing online midwife/homebirth supply stores and came across one I had never seen before.....it had those frozen gel-maxi pads that you can get in the hospital, which I have never seen ANYWHERE else.....and now, I can't seem to find the site again!!! Help! Does anyone know the site I am thinking of? It was a smaller site, I would say more towards selling to midwives, it had dopplers and "medical" stuff like blood drawing stuff in addition to herbs and pads and stuff, etc.
Can someone point me back to that site, or another site where they sell those pads?
(beating my head for not just buying some on the spot....)

I ordered my birth kit from Cascade Health Care Products. They are just the best. Their website is www.1Cascade.com They have those instant cold pads. I ordered 6 six of those. They also sell tons of other great things too.

http:///www.inhishands.com/ fits your description. They have the OB cold packs, in addition to the other things you mentioned. I ordered from them last week and got my stuff in like 2 days!! (Though I'm in the same state, so I know that's part of it.)

I've used the site: http://www.midwifesupplies.com/ which offeres common supplies and kits that midwives use. It has a sister site http://www.everythingbirth.com that helps provide birthing aids to moms and dads. Hope this helps!

This site also has them, plus PAGES of custom birth kits. I love this site!

Actually, I prefer the homemade cold packs....they are so easy to make, so much cheaper, you can have as many as you want, and you can use any ingredients you like!

Take whatever sitz/post partum herbs you prefer and make a strong tea. Get a package of your favorite disposable sanitary pads (I like the ones that are designed for plus-sizes--they are great for post partum) and a large medicine syringe, turkey baster, or something (what worked perfectly for me is a clean nasal bulb syringe!) and use it to apply the tea to the center of the pads. Prolly a couple Tbs per pad.

Turn the pads onto their sides, on a cookie sheet, and curve into a C-shape. Freeze them in this shape, then when they are frozen solid, put them in a large ziploc bag.

I think I did 2 dozen last time, and not only are they so soothing, but the herbs add to the soothing/healing properties, too! HTH!

I like everythingbirth.com and have my birth kit there. The larger birth supply place I used to work for and can't say much nice about the owner's feelings on homebirth midwives.
