i have about 12 pair of ecobaby organics (the natural ones). I absolutely love them and we have been using them for about 7 1/2 months on my son (he was 8.4 when born so was pretty much in them from day one).
the problem i am now having is that the diapers are stinky. i tried striping all my diapers (we use ecobabies and fuzzibunz) and washed them on HOT 7 times with NO detergent. the smell went away for a few days but is back with a vengence.
is there anything else you recommend i do?
i used to use baking soda and vingar in the wash but havent since the stripping.
my normal wash routine is: Cold Wash, extra rinse, on Heavy Duty setting..no detergent then
Hot Wash, extra rinse, on Heavy Duty, small amount of regular Tide detergent.
i USED To add baking soda to the cold wash and vinegar to the Hot Wash but eliminated that.

please let me know if there is something else i should be doing to prevent these diapers from stinking.

I had some smalls and I have some larges. Absorbitalls, right???

I love the fit, my only complaint is that they take a long time to dry... and I think there lies your problem. I'll bet that you have either build up in there or (my 1st guess) you have a little bacteria build up b/c they take so long to dry (like maybe the innermost layer stayed slightly damp and stuff grew?????

You can try stripping with Dawn, that;s worked well for me in the past. But if it's bacteria, I would use the dreaded bleach

I bleached a few of mine once
: . Mine were organic too. A few months later, some of the serging started coming loose in spots, but otherwise I could not tell a difference. But I also think I used too much.

Maybe others can give better advice, as I don;t use bleach much at all around here (and only that 1 time that I had stink on teh dipes
: ).

Try stripping w/ Dawn to see if it is oily detergent builup. Then as a last resort, you can add a Tbl or so of bleach,a nd increase if needsd. You could also search diapering for bleach
: and I'll bet you get some good tips. HTH

Are the OS QD or do they take forever to dry??? I guess you could also try to do a big tea tree oil treatment, but then you might get oily build up????? I think if you get bacteria in there, sometimes even hot water won;t kill it. I'm really not sure though. do a search for bacteria too, LOL

HTH, really !!
