Okay so I am in the process of ordering prints & fabrics for my FM custom slot right now as we speak or type
~
I so far have only used their hemp/terry or all hemp.......

My question is for Sherpa? Is this as absorbant as hemp/terry or all hemp?
PRO's/CON's Are their any stink issues with Sherpa in general?

Can you tell I don't have any sherpa :LOL

These are for my DS's FIRST birthday which is tomorrow

Thanks so much!

Since sherpa is a cotton fabric, there are no more/less stink issues than with a hemp/cotton fabric.

Depending upon the weight of the sherpa, it can be just as absorbent as hemp. For example, a 16 ounce sherpa (my fave) is more absorbent than hemp terry, and about the equivalent of hemp fleece, perhaps more so, depending on how tight the knit is on the fabric.

Sherpa is soft and fluffy and makes me smile.

I don't know if it is as absorbent, probably not quite as much.

But it is so cuddly and soft.

But I'm a true hemp fleece lova'

I will try a dipe in sherpa topped with microfleece for the sewn in soaker~I just hope I don't regret getting my whole 12 diapers in sherpa

I did some absorbancy testing a while ago.. i should have bookmarked the post, LOL. Anyway I found that ounce of fabric per ounce of fabric, 16 oz. 90/10 sherpa was AS absorbant as hemp french terry/fleece. Hemp is just more compact/trimmer. <edited this out as i found the link for the acutual numbers and posted it in a reply below
> Obviously sherpa with lesser cotton content and lower weight would be less absorbant, and vice versa

mama2kyla I'm confused. You use hemp fleece/terry interchangeably in that post. It was my understanding that hemp fleece is much more absorbent than hemp terry. I've only ever used the fleece because of that - I don't want to deal with something that has less sucking power.

hemp french terry and hemp fleece are the same fabrics. Hemp fleece is made by taking hemp french terry and brushing out the loops. They have the exact same absorbancy... tho I tend to think that hemp french terry holds its absorbancy longer because as hemp fleece gets used more it gets linty.. and you loose the fluff... therefore losing absobancy.. kwim? You dont have that problem with hemp french terry cause the loops are intact.
just out of curiosity, what number are you?

I feel like a hyena tied up to a tree with my pray in arms reach, only I can't reach it, LOL
