So for some reason, I'm in love with the leavened raglan from this current issue of Interweave Knits.

http://www.interweaveknits.com/galle...l2007/hoge.asp

I am not in love with the price of the yarn though, $19.00 per skein. (Also, now is a good time for me to say this is my first attempt at an adult sweater. If $19 a skein is not outrageous for a sweater, someone please inform me.)

I think it's the mohair in it that's making it so pricey. Anyone have any good sub suggetions? 4 sts to an inch on US8s/5mm. Although according to the pattern, gauge is 6 1/2 sts in 4" on US13/9mm in a brioche pattern.

Any suggestions or ideas? Or if you have a better suggestion for a first time sweater pattern?
