VERY big problem. My DH put a wet premium UBCPF in our whites laundry (at the bottom) and 2 infant UBCPF on top of it. That laundry didn't get touched for a week. Now I have mold, yes mold,
: on three diapers that I can't possibly bleach.

How do I get rid of it.
I tried washing, w/ extra detergent, extra rinses, scrubbing. what now.

HELP PLEASE,
Desperately,
Dawn

Why can't you bleach them? Yes they might turn white, but IME, UBCPFs fade to almost white after using them for quite a while anyway. Another thing that has successfully taken out mildew stains for me, is a very strong solution of oxyclean in boiling water in the kitchen sink (or washer) for a day or maybe longer....but, that might cause your prefolds to turn white as well. Also, try hanging them in the sunshine when they are wet......it may not take out all of the stains, but it will certainly fade them.

HTHs a little!

I wouldn't take a chance with mold, especially if we are talking prefolds. I would use the bleach. Honestly, occasional bleaching isn't going to be the end of your dipes (especially prefolds and things without elastic or prints).

I agree- I think occaisonal bleaching is ok. I think you just don't want to bleach on a regular basis- KWIM?

UGGG! Poor mama! I have to agree with the bleach option too. What other choice do you have? I don't think anything else will completely get rid of and kill all the mold spores
. Just make sure you do many washes/rinses after the bleach too. Good luck!

Fear not the bleach bleach is bad if done all the time in excess. You actually need very little to kill the mold spores so the one time will not hurt, and to me its eaither they come out mold free or they are ruined. And take advantage of the AZ sun!
