My Ds is 11 months and has been eating a variety of solid food since about 6 months. He likes finger food and some jar foods. Well, in the last week he has totally changed his mind about being fed off the spoon and will only eat about 3 things. He'll eat banana, come crackers and some bread. He won't eat cooked carrots, potatoes, any meat, applesauce, rice, peas, green beans, blueberries, peaches, or avacado. These are all things I have offered him in the last week. Basically I put a little of whatever I'm eating on his tray and he plays with it a little and then makes a terrible face if it gets close to his mouth.

He still nurses about 6-10 times a day (24 hour period) so I know he's getting all he needs but I'm stumped as to why this sudden change. I just want him to eat a little of what we're eating and nurse and be done with it. He's never had any sugar or junk food or juice. He will drink 2-4 ounces of water a day from a cup if I offer it.

Anybody BTDT? At this point I plan to continue to offer a variety of foods and wait and see what he does. Will he eventually eat like a regular person?? (I know, he will, just tell me that please!)

Thanks
Beth

bananas, cracker, and bread are all constipating. Is he constipated? Are you giving him "regulr" cracker and bread or organic, whole wheat...? I highly recommend giving your baby sprouted wheat products cause they are easier to digest for little bodies (and big ones too). There are a few brand names that I know of, Ezekiel, and Manna. Try them out, maybe your baby will like it.

Ok, so I posted this thread last week and 2 days later ds came down with his first fever! He had a bad cold with a fever and diarrhea for 4 days! We fought it out with lots of rest and nursing and he is now back to his old self...and eating more solids again. I should have known, not eating was a sign of things to come.

Another lesson learned to let ds lead the way, he knows what his body needs!
