Okay, I've been trying to think of a solution for my PP bleeding after this birth. Birth #1 I used disposable pads, got a bad diaper rash, and my skid marks took a long time to heal.
Birth #2 I used little gauzy prefolds from the thrift store, and those netty disposable panties that come in your birth kit.
This time, here's what I'm thinkin'.
Victoria's Secret is having the semi annual sale right now. I thought about getting a bunch of the second skin satin undies in the red and red prints and sewing layers of hemp fleece topped in cotton velour - directly onto the panties themselves. I hate shifting of pads, and this seems to me like it would feel very pampering to be able to wear satin undies right after birth with no wings hanging out of my crotch.
I know I could just buy/sew mama pads, but I dunno, they are pretty pricey for the postpartum ones, and you still have the exposed wing issue.

I just bought 6 hemp postpartum pads on ebay for real cheap, maybe you could look there if you want to buy some? I bought them for about $10 and they are SO pricey usually. I was also thinking about using prefolds, that didn't work for you? I used disposable pads last time, but they are so stinky and sticky and gross.

I think that sounds like a good idea too!

I have also heard recommendations for using newborn contours (like Kissaluvs) as postpartum pads. They are only 5.95 too (most postpartum pads are like 10 dollars each!)

Thanks everyone!
The gauzy birdseye prefolds actually would've worked fine if I had thought of a way to keep them stationary back then. I didn't have a sewing machine. But it was waaayyyy more comfortable than using disposables. I will never put a disposable pad on again after that chafy rash I got. (Makes me really empathize for every time my kids have had a rash!) And since I got them used, they were fluffed and very soft.
I already have the hemp fleece and some cotton velour, so really I would just have to buy the panties.

I have a TON of premium sized prefolds, I think I could cut up a couple and make some pads (maybe even with snaps, if I feel REALLY crafty and am nesting). My son is out of diapers and the baby won't need that size for ages, anyways.
