THanks for the b-day wishes

So yesterday, I had a MOB of kids at my house to do mother's day crafts and make pizzas. I made my half WW crust, and roasted veggie sauce (with tomatoes to taste/look familiar) and seriously they devoured them. And we had smoothies with banana blueberries and spinach, honey and greek yogurt. $100 at Michales for crafts supplies, and feeding them all, THAT is my gift to all my mama friends LOL. We did decoupage vases with tissue papers, scrap book pages that they cut out shapes from, and other little decals then I painted a coat of the shimmer. They are so cute, anyways....

I am totally addicted to cauliflower. I could eat a whole head every meal LOL. There's a restaurant supply place that has really good produce on the cheap and I get my organic spinach there, and some other stuff that i eat a lot of.

I went back to pureeing cauliflower, carrots, sweet potatoes, spinach and a couple other things in my vitamix. I seriously have noticed a difference in DD's disposition during the day when she is very full of nutrients. They DO eat veggies, but of course they are little, and sometimes a bowl of sauce or soup looks better than a plate of veggies. I'm cool wtih that. I'm kinda thrilled, because she LOVES paninis with sourdough, and she uses like a half a cup of ketchup lol.....i've been putting exactly half sweet potato/carrot puree in the ketchup and she LOVES it. I wish i could make ketchup as good as the nasty stuff. *I* love homemade ketchup, but they don't

I got these really awesome popsicle molds from williams sonoma. ONly takes like 15 mintues to freeze. It only makes 6 at a time and they are spendy so probably won't get another one for a while but yesterday I made pineapple banana orange, and put carrot puree in it. I think DD reacts to coconut i'm not sure, so I've been using greek yogurt a lot.

Had an AWAESOME workout monda;y, my lats are still a little sore, doing legs and shoulders today. I met a REALLY nice guy, like the buddy kind, he sure is a looker though LOL....but i'm comfortable workin out with him cause he's not ridiculous like some of those gym rat types. I am GOING to lunge with that 80 pound barbell tonight!

Ryleigh's mama - I think you're freakishly strong LOL.....you can get 40 pound dumbells up yourself?! I have to have someone help me push them up in to position, and then I can do 2-4 reps now. The 35 's are now like the 30's used to be (i can do 4 ses of 10) but it took near 4 shoulder workouts. One little tip on gaining strength. Take maybe 2 workouts, skip the dumbell presses first heavy, and do military press with a rack and a spotter if possible. It's a little more compound since you can rely on your whole upper body not one side at a time. Do a warm up wthi the bar, then pyramid up and do 4 working sets of like 10, 6, 6, 4. Do your dumbell presses at the end purposely lighter, don't even try to do the heavy ones. Then after 2 workouts like that go back to doing heavy dumbell press and see if you can do heavier/more on your own. I like doing that cause it's kind of fun to anticipate and then see it work. I always do military press AND dumbell press but i get sick of using the same darn weight and this worked.

Wow Lisa, awesome... life! lol The craft day sounds so great, did you tell the parents what you were able to get into their kids?!

I wish I had a vitamix. It's definitely on my appliance wish list!

So my challenge is in full swing and I'm doing very well. I am having no cravings for sugar. Yesterday I did have a few gin and tonic's with lime when I went out with the girls, but my carbs were still at 43g so it's all good!

I've been so focused on completing this biology course that I've been letting my workouts slide! I need to get back into it pronto!

OMG gin and tonic, mmmm.

Well, after baking, and drinking coffee all morning i realized i hadn't eaten yet. So i had my typical breakfast. Eggs, flax, banana, cinnamon.....

my heart started racin and i got that hot mucus like i gotta run......15 minutes of heaving in the bathroom, then racing back to dry heave some MORE, and now i feel like i've been hit by a truck.

Soemtimes i still feel like i get low blood sugar, in the past it was BAD. I still need to go have a chem profile workup just to see where things are. I have gotten to the piont where not eating for just several hours, not like half day or something adn not hungry, then I eat something and feel like death. WEIRD

so what should I eat? I"m so sick to my stomach, maybe i'm just comin down with something. No gym for me today

Hope you feel better Lisa, I had a wierd stomach today too. Hungry, but it was all running right through me. Thanks for the tip on the workout. I am NOT freakishly strong, 40's are HARD for me. I can get them up myself now, but it's not like I'm pressing them a ton. After I said that, of course, I did a chest/arms/back workout and I went to do incline presses at the end (I was already tired, but still) and could barely eek out 2 with 35's.

I wanted to say, that I never eat grains, but the other day my stomach was upset and the only thing that sounded good was sourdough toast with butter....so I ate some. I felt better.

Lil EM you are awesome! Talk about ROCKING the challenge!

I am doing pretty good food wise. Monday we had a benefit dinner for a friend and I did have a chocolate covered strawberry, but considering that there were over 100 dessert choices there...that wasn't so bad.

Are gin and tonic's lc? they must be. I never drink, partly because I can't find anything low carb. I'll have to try that.

Food today:
B-eggs, spinach
L-Huge salad with avo, and shrimp, and one HB egg.
Snack- Nuts
D-we are planning meatza

Aw, feel better Lisa! My blood sugar gets all wacked out if I get sick, reminding me of the days when I would feel faint and buzzy if I didn't eat every couple of hours.

Thanks for the encouragement ryleigh'smama! I'm so excited about this challenge!

Gin and tonic is lower carb than mixed drinks that use coke etc. and lower carb than wine. I love white wine but decided I really wanted something lime-y and tart. Mmmmmmmm. I have like 4 wedges of lime in each one. A guy tried to pick me up with "well you won't get scurvy!" definitely not the best pickup line, but points for originality.

So day two of my challenge was also awesome.

Today has been another great day! I'm loving this challenge so far!!!

Breafast/lunch was a spicy bacon mushroom shrimp stirfry. So yummy. I know bacon in a stirfry sounds weird, but the tiny bits of bacon gave it this yummy salty savouryness, and the chinese 5 spice powder had a subtle sweetness, along with some sweetness from balsamic vinegar. I really like the wheat free tamari I bought at the HFS. I had been missing asian food so much!!!

Snack of pistachios and then dinner was a BLT salad. I love the BAS. I don't know how much other people eat, but my BAS go in one of my big metal mixing bowls. Mmmmmmm.

The numbers:

The numbers:

Fats: 66.5%
Proteins: 19.3%
Carbs: 14.2%

Calories: 1069
Carbs: 39
Fat: 81
Protein: 53

Not bad! Could of been lower carbs wise, but I'm under 50. Pistachios have a LOT of carbs! erg! That's what I get for letting my self get hungry but being too lazy to make my BAS right away.

OMG EVERYONE! I got stung by a bee while driving. My neck looks like I have a tumor . Ok well not so funny, but given my day.....I was actually feeling good and decided to go to the gym, then low and behold something struck me. I thought a rock flew in the car until something buzzed and flew by me and out the window. good thing i was on a side road, I pulled over and looked and the little stinger was poking out of my neck. I didn't know what to do but i was accross the street from a drug store and bought some benadryl. Turns out it makes me WIRED. I went to the gym anyways and had some weird energy rush LOL. Granted i had a swollen neck, but it was kinda funny.

Rock it lil em I'm rootin for ya!! Wow 1000calories is not much, I think I feel like death under 2000. Sometimes i'm probably around 1800 if i end up skipping a meal accidentally. I have been eating close to 2500 calories and my weight hasn't budged. I can eat more calories low carb no grains it seems.

OMG OWIE!!!! Poor you!

Ya, 1000 is low for me. I'm consistantly around 1800 cals lately. I wonder if it has to do with my cycle. I don't seem to have an appetite when I'm menstrating.

What am I doing awake still, WIRED...damned drowsy benadryl I tell ya

I have days sometimes when I'm not hungry, or rather so busy i just don't notice and don't eat much. It seems the more active I am, the less food I need which is strange. The days I DON'T workout i eat loads more.

I need some dinner plans for tomorrow. ANd OMG i'm laughing at the pick up line I forgot to tell ya. It's hilarious to get hit on. When i was single, and must have looked mean or something cause half the time *I* would have to be the one to do the hitting I used to say "I like your ass, call me" and leave my number LOL!! It started out as a joke one time in a restaurant with a friend, she kind of dared me to go give some guy my number so that's what I said. After that it kind of was funny.

Anyways, you're too cute, I'd hit on you LOL well if I was like that and not married that is

Ya, definitely the most original pick up line I've ever encountered. Guys are so funny, they don't even look for your wedding ring! They're too busy staring... elsewhere!

Today I'm low on cals so far, but plan on eating again tonight. I had a hardboiled egg and smoked oysters for breakfast/lunch. (weird combo I know, but it's all we had in the fridge.) I tried to use up everything that would go bad because we're leaving tonight to go visit my family for 5 days, so dinner was a BAS that turned out so yummy. I'll be eating it all summer for sure.

romaine, baby spinach and baby romaine.
fresh pico de gallo, mixed with this awesome spicy smokey roasted tomato salsa and some sour cream.
cold cooked shrimp
long peices of purple onion.
a bit of shredded cheddar.

It was so tasty and fresh and spicy and mmmmmmmmmmm! Dh wolfed it down and said it would be perfect with ground beef (ew). Very much like a taco salad.

Oh and I'll definitely put avacado in it next time!

I'll post my numbers at the end of the night.

Hey LC-ers! I belong in this thread but I don't post much. I always read y'all though!

I wanted to share a delightful recipe for greens that a neighbor gave to me.

Greens with coconut and curry

2-3 T oil of your choice
4-6 cloves garlic
chunk of ginger (couple of inches of root)
1 tsp curry powder
2-3 pounds of greens, de-stemmed
1 cup stock
1 can coconut milk
salt & pepper

1. Heat 2-3 T of the oil of your choice in a dutch oven over med-high heat, add a diced onion, saute until just beginning to brown.

2. Add 4-6 cloves of garlic and a chunk of ginger, all minced, and the curry powder -- let it go for a minute longer

3. Add a pound or more of de-stemmed greens (kale, collards, mustards, turnips, maybe chard but chard might be too delicate for this recipe), let them saute in the pan until they're beginning to wilt. Stir them around.

4. Add remaining greens, coconut milk, stock, and a little bit of salt. Stir.

5. Reduce heat to medium and cover. Stir occasionally, let it cook for 25 min for more delicate greens (kale, mustards) or up to 45 minutes for tougher greens (collards, etc.).

6. Remove the lid and turn the heat up. Let the excess liquid cook off. That will take 10 or so minutes, and the greens will begin to sizzle.

7. Season with salt, pepper, red pepper flakes.

I am also going to post this on the Paleo thread in the TF forum.

Enjoy!

We have been traveling a lot and are finally back. I am so exhausted and need some red meat, sleep, and excerise. I look fowrard to getting back to LC. I did not totally drop it but we were staying with family and they eat higher carb low fat ect. My goal is to go hardcore paleo/lc/exercise for the rest of May (3 weeks just seems managable to me!) to detox from traveling and get ready for summer.

I went to Costco yesterday and stocked up on meats, eggs, and vegs.
What I have been into lately--

stir-fry bell pepper and onion
chicken coconut milk curry with lots of frozen vegs (green beans, broc ect)
Challenge day four was good.

I was out and about with my sister doing weddingy stuff (I love being her maid of honor!!!) so I IF'd until evening, and munched on some spicy pepperoni sticks (gluten and other crap free! woohoo!!!) while making dinner. I made that awesome jalapeno smokey ranch chicken salad.

Then my sister asked me to make another one of those "milk shakes" lol. So I made a smoothie with heavy cream, frozen blueberries, fresh strawberries and a banana. It fed 5 of us so I didn't stress about a small cup of smoothie, and it was SO yummy!

Seems like curry is popular around here! Curried greens sound too yummy! newcastlemama- welcome back! It is sooo hard to stay exactly on track when you are away from home- I bet you are excited for the detox and feeling back to normal.

lil_earthmomma- I didn't know you were going to be a maid of honor- that's too cool! And what great motivation to help you lose weight as well!

I am finally ending a crazy stressful week here- and I HOPE that it calms down now.

Had a date night and was going to eat out but decided to cook at home instead and really splurged. Bought some flank steak w/ shitakes, and a red bell pepper, a pound of BIG shrimp- dark choco to make some coco milk choco icecream(sweetened w/ honey). It was lovely! Oh, and for an appetizer I bought premade guac(wholly guac w/out a bunch of crazy added ingredients- just avocado- spices) and celery to dip it.

I am slowly bringing the carbs back down. Feeling better every day mood and energy wise- it helps that I actually got a full nights sleep last night for the first time in a week! Really hoping to start back in the exercise routine this coming week as life should be slowing down. And I am going to do swim lessons w/ the kids in about a month which is good motivation to make sure I look decent in a swimsuit! EEKKKK! Weight is down now to 121.4

Wow crunchy_mama that special dinner sounds fabulous!!!

Sounds to me like you'd look awesome in a bathing suit now! What is your goal weight? Or is it a goal size?

Yes, actually next summer (not this summer coming up) I am my sister's maid of honor, one of my brother's groomsgirls, and might be my best guy friends best girl. I am also doing the flowers for two of those weddings. It's gonna be crazy!!! I'm really excited to be buff and have my boobs already! (A point of contention for the dress makers. Try explaining to a seamstress that you are going to be a bigger size bust wise, but you're not sure what size!) hee hee

Today is going to be so much fun. We're taking the boys to Tyrell Museum, an incredible museum of palaeontology. If you're ever in this part of canada, don't miss it! It's a 1.5 hour drive for us, but I think the littles will sleep, and I will do some biology. Ugh, I have to get this course done by May 26 and I'm dragging my heals. time to dig in!

I'm going to weigh in today, I'll post my results shortly!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Lil_em you are sure going to be busy!!! The museum sounds totally awesome! We need to be planning some more trips for things like that dh has been working so much though it has been hard to get the time. So, when are you getting boobs Lil_em- this summer? That isn't too long away!

Our dinner was awesome- just finished my leftovers for brunch! I am not trying to lose weight anymore- but I could use some musclebuilding. Also, I don't wear shorts in public(usually skirts in the summer-very rarely- like if hiking I might wear long shorts - knee length or so) so my legs are pasty pale. So, I don't know how I am going to do this at this point I am self-conscious at showing my legs just as I am not used to it, does that make sense?

crunchy i don't get much of a tan esepcially on my legs, but get the lotion with the "sunkissed" look thing . I love it, just makes your skin glisten a tad.

I think if you don't like lifting, and don't want to go to agym or whatever, DO WALKING LUNGES!!! Adjustable weight stacks are like around $40 or $50 they basically have a "plug" in them you move up or down to make them lighter/heavier. Do them around your house a couple times a week. Get a good stretch in your thigh, push off your heel and squeeze your butt like your life depended on it on the way back up. Then immediately do squats holdign the same ones, then stiff legged deadlifts for hamstrings. It does NOT take long AT ALL to see a little muscle when you are thin already and eating right

Just my advice/esperience/opinion lilem - When you are really low bodyfat, and have alot of chest musclular development, you WILL lose basically all your breast tissue. I have a very nice build to my upper chest with a "line" down the middle. I have had two consultations and both have said the same thing I pretty much new, that the new silicones will look the most natural. And the surgery recovery is slightly less because they do not cut so much in to the muscle. It's good you are waiting to even have consult because a lot can change.

I still don't know when I can schedule out the time for recovery. I'm just not quite ready yet
