I don't know about nowadays, but my husband was diagnosed with diabetes in 1965. WHen he was a teenager, the doctors offered to give him HGH and he declined. BUt all of the other children who did take the HGH died within 5-10 years. I would not touch HGH with a 10 foot pole. Just my opinion.
I am *very* nervous about the recent availability of hormonal supplements like HGH and melatonin over the counter. Other hormones, such as estrogen and thryoid hormones, are only available with a prescription. Why some are deemed safe for self-medication I don't know, but it concerns me. I would want to do some pretty exhaustive research myself, and even then probably still wouldn't chance it. Hormonal supplements and herbs can be as dangerous to the body as other prescription medications.
