My MIL used to live in Hawaii, and a friend of hers there gave her a plant extract/ herb that she used for labor and birth. Apparently it really loosens up the cervix/adds lots of lubrication (imbibed orally).. We cant remember the name of it, but I am curious to have the name of though. I think it had just 3 letters, like pau, or something, but I could be totally off. Does anyone know anything about it? THanks a lot!

I lived in Hawaii since the 70s but I'm not Hawaiian and certainly not an expert in Hawaiian healing herbs but I've never heard of pau. In local slang Pau means "finished" or "end".

At the end of work some people will say "All pau" meaning they're done and going home.

Are you thinking of Noni? It's somewhat smelly and I know people drink Noni juice. Hopefully someone who knows more than me will come along with a better answer.

Maybe they call it 'pau' because it means you're all done being pregnant?

I've never heard of it - I have a hawaiian herbal book, so I will see if I can look it up for you.
