I don't quite know where I fit on this board so I thought I'd start a thread. I am still BFing DD3 and haven't gotten AF yet, but I want to TTC now. Anyone have any helpful hints?

I am 16 mo. PP and I DD has night weaned herself and we have cut out 1 feeding during the day, but still no AF. I really want to get PG but I don't want to completly wean DD yet. Thanks for any advice!!

Just give it some time. And word of advice for your mental health: don't officially call yourself "TTC" until your fertility actually returns... it will save you lots of heartache and feelings of "there is something wrong with me". By the time your cycles actually return you are going to be feeling like you have been TTCing for a long long time when in reality you can't get pregnant if you aren't ovulating and having infertility while breastfeeding is actually a normal thing. You can say you are "waiting to TTC" or something...
Just suggesting that b/c I had a friend who "TTC'd" for a year before she actually got pregnant, she was feeling like she was dealing with real infertility issues, when in reality she was dealing with postpartum infertility and she got pregnant on like the second or third postpartum cycle...
So hang in there! Be patient! Your cycles will eventually return- probably sometime around the time they have returned in the past (which is?)

I got my AF back around 18 mo. with dd1 and around 1 yr with dd2, and dd3 is 15 mos now. Does it usually come back around the same time with each baby?
Don't mean to ask stupid questions, I just started to read up about the charting thing...LOL

It can vary from child to child based on their nursing style, your nursing style for each of them... if they are kid that likes to nurse a lot then you fertility may be kept at bay longer than if they are not so interested... I think you can safely expect to get your fertility back in the next few months though, given you history. I am fairly certain you would not experience 36 months of infertility with this one since you have had 12 months and 18 months...
