just wanted to introduce myself...

i've been avidly reading this site for a while now, happy to have found such a rich source of information with a philosophy that seems pretty in line with my own.

i'm 27 years old and my husband and i are going to start trying to have our first child in another month. seems to be a good time to join in the community instead of just lurking.

thanks!

welcome!! now is the time to educate yourself about all sorts of parenting issues.. and to make sure that you and hubby agree on them! it can be very hard if you don't agree.

thanks!

i completely agree about education in advance. my husband thinks it's kind of funny that i've been doing so much reading well before i'm even pregnant. he has been ready to have a baby long before i was, so it must have seemed even a bit confusing to him. for me though, information feels very empowering. what i've learned has really helped bring me to this point of being very excited for the whole experience of becoming a mother.

luckily we agree on most issues, though there are a few question marks still floating around... homebirth being the one on my mind the most right now.

maybe i should head over to that forum...

Heck, now IS the time to get that information! There is so much out there to know and learn. I sure wish I would have had this resource *before* I had my babies. But at least I have it now. Arm yourself with information! You'll love it here! There are many wonderful people that are experts on many issues!

Happy posting!

Welcome! I saw your post in the Bay area midwives thread. I too educated myself long before I was pregnant, becasuse we struggled with infertility for 3 years before it finally happened. By the time I was actually pregnant, my views had changed dramatically! I went from thinking homebirth was incredibly risky to knowing how wonderful it was and that it was right for me. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was already 12 weeks, so I'm,.......... (sorry, little guy wanted to type) really glad/lucky I started researching way ahead of time!!!

funny how many interesting things get learned when there is no other choice but to be patient.
