So, I'm on my third pregnancy with GD. (All insulin-dependent, although the last two have been managed for the most part with glyburide.) Anyway... as we get closer to the due date, I'm up to weekly monitoring and such. Thing is, both my OB and my MFM have such bizarre hours that they both want to schedule me on the same day. I see no need to see both of them every week--my blood glucose levels are normal (w/meds)... and there are no known issues with the baby. I mean... do two OBs really need to do two ultrasounds in one day?? I don't think so. How do you handle it?? Both are saying that I *have* to see both of them... but I have no desire to spend all day in doctor's waiting rooms with my two young'uns. I don't remember this being an issue in the other pregnancies... what do you do?

i'd tell the docs that its just not do-able to see them both every week.....maybe you could see each of them every other week so you are still seeing an OB every week....just not the same one!

That's what I'm proposing... but both are freaking ($$$)... the MFM (high risk OB) is saying I need to fetal monitoring.... and the regular OB is saying I need to see her as we get closer to the birth. : The OB is supposed to call me back to discuss... so we'll see what happens.

I just found out I failed the 1 hr glucose test. I'm already seeing a high risk ob since I'm having twins. I wonder if I'm going to have to see anyone else? ugh

I hope you are able to get things worked out!
