So I heard about this today on the way to work, but it wasn't a legitimate source. It was one of those stupid "gobie and the monkey-dude" morning shows. Anyway, they said that two highschool cheerleaders in Boston were kicked off the cheerleader squad after a video of them together "in a lesbian encounter" was distributed (without their permission) around school.

I tried looking for a real source on this, but it turns out that a google search for "highschool cheerleader lesbian" generates a lot of hits that just aren't what I'm looking for (at least not right now).

Has anyone else heard about this? From the very little I have heard, I am outraged, but I'd like to hear the whole story. Thanks

There is a lot that isn't clear about what happened....

Like did they make this video for money?
Were they planning on airing it on TV?
Were they actually in a relationship and just messing around?

Now if they were just messing around and actually dating each other...then it is absolutely stupid that they were kicked off the squad.

But if they were making porn for airing or for $$ - then that is another thing, especially since they are minors. I think that if they were victimzed, then it is BS that they were dismissed.

I think I need more info and the school needs to do some more investigation before just dimissing them.

It really takes away some of the incentive for parent's to pressure their kids into extracurricular activities, though,

Reminds me of the time someone was looking for info on gays being in the boy scouts, and someone else suggested doing a search for "gay boy scouts." I don't think I want to see what that might bring up!

apparently there might be trouble for the herald since the people in trouble were basketball cheerleaders but they ran a picture of the football cheerleaders complete with names.... ( this is not from an offical news organization - trying to find more info on that.

Were they making the video in their uniforms? I don't see what it has to do with cheering. And it's not illegal for minors to have sex with each other. I suppose it's illegal to distribute videos, but do we know they made it with that intent? Maybe someone stole it.

Male athletes are not always booted from the team when they are arrested for rape, so I don't see why females should be booted for consensual behavior.
