Hint for keeping celery in the fridge

I have just discovered how to store celery in the fridge for ages without it going limp!

Like me you probably find that the next day after buying it it is limp and horrible even when kept in the vege crisper section of the fridge.

The answer is alfoil! (Do you call it tinfoil?) I used two pieces of alfoil next to each other slightly overlapping so all of the length of the bunch was covered and just rolled it up around the celery.

You don't even need to put it in the crisper, just anywhere in the fridge is fine.

It's been days and it's still crisp!! Yahoo. I love celery but no one else in the family will eat it and it takes me ages to get through a big bunch on my own. Previously I've eaten it even if it was limp so I wouldn't waste it but I don't have to do that any more.

If you would have told me when I was 16 that one day I would be truly excited about learning how to store celery I wouldn't have believed you. God how our lives change when we get older.

You're not alone. I also get jazzed when I choose the exact right size container for the leftovers.

I've been keeping my celery in tinfoil for a couple of years now (obviously, not the same bunch). It's a great tip. It'll keep for weeks like that.

This happens to me more and more lately. For years it seemed like this weird psychic talent some people had that I'd never be able to master. Thanks for reminding me how truly exciting it is.

If you prefer not to use al foil, Tupperware makes a great container called a "frisgesmart" in several sizes.
I have kept strawberries i bought in bulk cuz they were on sale for TWO WEEKS!!!
I think they are awesome! worth the investment!
