Let me first say I *know* we have heinously hard water.
That said, I dry pail, wash every other day at worst, usually every day.
I rinse and spin with a scoop of borax, then wash with 2 TB plain tide and the same of Borax on "whitest whites" cycle which has a second rinse. I will also occasionally do another rinse and spin.
I have stripped the dipes washing up to 3 cycles with nothing added. There aren't necessarily any suds, but I keep washing.
Yesterday I line dried everything in the sun but most of the stuff still kinda smells like a fishy/pee smell.
My pail almost knocks me over they smell SO much worse when wet (which makes sense).
I'm thinking of doing a wet pail as well, but I'm afraid to break down the dipes.
Should I try boiling them? If I do that, do I do the inserts and covers? Should I wash my inserts and covers seperately?
I have a couple PUL covers, a couple WindPro covers and then the rest are my GAD pockets.
Thanks for any insight!
