Some wise mama on here suggested that a baby having a potty strike at 7/8 mos might doing so because they've figured out how to hold it and are working on that skill.

I just got out of a potty strike w/my 7.5mo and I totally believe this theory. We were barely catching any pees, because she'd pee as soon as I'd give up & put her diaper back on.

All of a sudden, we are catching pees again. The reason I believe this theory is that now I can catch a pee on first waking--even though I don't get her to the potty until after I put my contacts in, pee & brush my teeth (we do not EC at night). She only has a wait of 3 minutes b/c I am fast, but I've been amazed--as soon as she goes on the BBLP she pees! Amazing.

We started at 5mo and have never caught poops, but she's starting to experiment with pooping in the BBLP. And she's started signing potty.

This EC thing is just amazing. I love what it is doing for our relationship, the closeness and the connection.

So many of our potty resisting phases have been because of this (at least I think so). It just seemed like she wanted to see how long she could hold it. Nowadays it's all about control...SHE wants to be the one to say when it's time to go. She's very clear about what she wants, my little girl.
