I am preparing to have a baby and need some bloodwork done but don't have anyone in the area. Anyone have a doctor that is open minded/integrative in the area and/or a midwife(going to need one of those too).<br>

I'll second this request! Just found out I'm pregnant and I haven't been happy with doctors I've seen in Temecula in the past. Very interested in finding a midwife as well. Preferably vegan-friendly.<br><br>

I've heard great things about Karen Baker too, as well as Coley. Anne is hit and miss. Some love her and some have had bad experiences.

coley was my midwife and we absolutely adored her. she came to us for all prenatals and was an asset to our birth.

Coley was there for the entirety of my labor. She is very open to what her clients needs/wishes are. she helped get my labor going for various reasons (blood pressure was creeping up and i had been 5 cm. for WEEKS and had a bulging bag, etc). I especially loved the part where you cried and said you did it, that had to feel so empowering yet relieved at the same time.<br>
By the way, what were you listening to in the background during labor?

<p>  I ended up using Coley and had an amazing homebirth.  I interviewed Andrea Meyer, Michelle Freund, one in Fallbrook I can't remember her name, Karen Pecora and Coley Douglass.  I loved Andrea Meyer but didn't want the drive, and in the end it was a toss up between Coley and Karen Pecora. Both are very qualified and kind.  Coley is very calm and when she said she handles well under pressure I was sold.  It all depends what level of involvement you want.  Coley is more hands off, and at appt's leaves it more up to you to bring things up.  She has her questions she will ask to make sure everything is going well but doesn't tend to go into details about the development of the baby.  She also came to me for all apts but not sure if she does that still.  She's also expecting in March but knowing her she will be back at work shortly after.  Hope this helps.  Where in the area are you?</p>

<p>Thanks for the info! I have a meeting with Ann Sommers and will see how it goes, I have heard positive things about her from our Bradley Class instructor who used her. I live in Temecula and am considering home birth for our first baby. We have Kaiser HMO. I contacted Coley and she is on Maternity leave. I am due in March and apparently so is she!</p>
