At my appt. with my midwife on Tuesday my uterus was measuring 2 fingers(or slightly less) above my pubic bone. Since that night I've been super crampy. Enough that I even called to have her remind me it was normal. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> Last night dh wanted to feel it, so I checked to see where it was. Holy moly! In what, three? days, it grew to five fingers above my bone! That's insane!<br><br>
Anyone else have super fast growth spurts like that?

Well, I'm not really sure where my uterus is, but I can tell you my belly has really popped recently. I was trying on maternity shirts at Old Navy last night and I kept asking dh if the shirts made me look fat or pregnant. I was really worried about some of the tighter ones just making me look fat. He said "I don't think you have to worry about that anymore." <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> Of course, that was after a large meal at Paula Deen's restaurant, so I'm sure my belly was a bit larger than normal, but I still feel like I've grown a lot in the last week.

My belly has been growing really fast. My uterus is several finger widths above my pubic bone, but that measurement varies based on time of day, full bladder, etc.<br><br>
I really love feeling my belly it in the morning. My bladder is always beyond full (which I don't love), pushing my uterus up to just below my belly button (when I'm lying down). My whole family piles in bed to feel "the baby." My four-year-old said, "It feels hard! Like a real baby!"<br><br>
As soon as I pee, though, back down into the depths of my pelvis goes the baby bag. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

If by "holy growing bean" you mean "holy growing belly pudging out over my jeans", yeah, I'm with ya... but I can't feel my uterus yet. (I'm 10 weeks.) It does seem like my belly's gotten big this week tho... finally doing the rubber-band through the button-hole thing on my jeans. I know I need to go shopping... I'm finally giving up trying to suck my gut in. It feels weird to feel it hanging out and not feel like I have to run to the gym and stop eating anything but lettuce, but I suppose I'll get used to it. It's just un-nerving cuz it just feels like fat right now, I can't feel a baby of any kind yet. But I know it's there and DH loves putting his hand on it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Ya, I can't believe how fast I'm growing with this one. They say you grow quicker with the second, but geez! I'm not even 10 weeks yet!

Yep, finally broke out the maternity goods this week. I was tired of just looking fat. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

i'm not sure where to feel around for my uterus, and i'm nervous i'll rustle things up! i do have a gut hanging over my low rise jeans though, at 10 weeks, and that is very exciting. not yet in maternity clothes, but really looking forward to it. there are so many big flowy shirts in the stores right now, i may not have to buy maternity tops for a while!

Can I just say how totally excited I am about this trend??? I hope it sticks around for a LONG time! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin"> I only wish the top parts of all these empire waist shirts had room for something more than a B cup <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">: <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

no kidding! Those built in bra tops suck too. Even the maternity ones won't hold much more than a B! I cut the inside off. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Oh yeah, I can definitely notice a difference lately. I actually had my t-shirt pulled up today going, "Look honey... beached whale baby!" Because my waist disappeared and now I have a pooch to go with it. *lol*

No kidding! I was at Old Navy shopping for maternity clothes and I actually tried on more things from the regular area that looked more like maternity than the actual maternity stuff. I would NOT wear that some of that stuff if I was not pregnant.

The whole flowy top thing makes it SO much easier on me to find maternity tops from general selections for the fat girls. I have a hard time finding maternity that fits - it's either not in my size, or my size still doesn't fit right.<br><br>
But pants are another issue. I now officially have two pairs of capris and one pair of jeans that fit, but barely. And it's getting too hot here to wear jeans. I have to unzip by the evening and I am only 1.5 pounds over my pre-pregnancy weight now! My belly has totally popped.

grace24, i feel the same way. this is my first and i have a history of ed so being in this stage where i just feel fat really freaks me out but i am surprisingly taking it in stride. i think the rubber band trick is the best thing ever because all my pants still fit (and even button) but they pinch and are uncomfortable...with the rubber band they're much more bearable.<br><br>
a question: how can you tell where your uterus is? i try feeling it both in the morning when my bladder is full, and after i've emptied my bladder (per dr. sear's _pregnancy book_), and while i feel like my pubic area is weirdly HARD i'm not sure if i am feeling my uterus yet. i go to my first m/w appt on monday so maybe she'll be able to show me. i'm 10w4d, will be 10w6d when i see her. i'm excited!

Gina, I understand about the pants. I have one pair of shorts and one pair of jeans (non-maternity) that still fit me but they are rather tight in the tummy. I'm 1 lb. below prepregnancy weight, but my belly has popped out anyway. I love the Old Navy pants and shorts. They're designed to fit all the way through.
