Salut!
I'm only a couple of weeks pregnant and new to Paris. I'd like as natural birth as possible - if all goes well, a home birth. But it seems that I have to find an independant midwife as home births aren't normal here.

Can any of you recommend such a midwife or let me know how I can find one?

And if there are problems, and I end up in a hospital, are there any public hospitals and OBs you can recommend?

Merci in advance!

COngratulations on your pregnancy!

There are several sage-femmes libérales in the Paris area.
Here is a list:
http://perinatalite.chez-alice.fr/re...praticiens.pdf

Also you can check out www.doulas.info for info about doulas, natural birth, breastfeeding etc

Thank you for those links. I am still a little shocked by how few independent midwives there are in France! The doulas site has some useful tips.
