home school art curriculum?

I do not homeschool, but I am interested in teaching my children art at home. I'm specifically looking for things like drawing, color theory, etc. I haven't found any children's art books that look good, so I'm wondering if there is anything else out there. I thought this would be a good place to ask!

Well, I got this advertisement in the mail, and they let you do a lesson for free to try it out, and I thought it was awesome! Too pricey for me, but if I had the money, I'd get it cause my kids loved the demo. http://www.geeguides.com/schools/faq/

You'll find quite a few helpful ideas in sites linked to from here:
fine art, fun art... - it's amazing what's free online these days.

Here are some lesson plans with projects that definitely would flow with some art theory teaching nicely.

It is also a great web site to explore, perhaps you will find a book recommendation on there that might help?

Scrumptious resource! Thank you! I've already added it to my set of links. It's so nice to see something that has such easily doable projects that really look unique and artistic even from an adult perspective :paint. That's a good site to keep bookmarked and refer to whenever there's a lull to fill. In fact, I have a friend coming over in a little while who loves to do craftsy things but doesn't consider herself all that artistic, so I'm going to tell her about it.

When we were homeschooling my younger sister we found that Mark Kistler's Imagination Station stuff was absolutely fantastic. He uses simple shapes and ideas to get kids to do really fun looking artwork that seems like it should be a whole lot harder. He also teaches the basics of shading and such for doing 3-d artwork. The man's insane but fun
