I'm not a homebirther but thought I'd share what I thought was a very nice representation of a homebirth on a TV program.

I'm watching Ballykissangel (BBC program from the late 1990s, I get it from Netflix) and in season 4, one of the characters has a homebirth. It was very nice - no real hysterics or complications.

Just thought I'd share.

It is so nice to see it portrayed as a non-emergency, calm, normal event. Too bad there isn't more of that. I can't imagine how much it would help the cause if a major TV show had a major character give birth that way.

There's a homeburth in monarch of the glen as well, another BBC show. A little drama because the dr? mw? was late or something like that. The mother of the laboring woman also had her children at the same house
