I used Joyce Kimball out of Worcester. She was wonderful/fabulous/stupendous!!! I cannot say enough nice things about her. She's a certified doula and direct entry midwife. I don't have her number handy but you can find her on the dona website.

We ended up with a hospital birth due to some potential complications with baby that were spotted on an u/s. I should have stayed away from the u/s but that is a topic for another thread

Her doula services were invaluable. We labored at home until I was 9cm and went to the hospital to push the baby out. She helped me achieve the best birth experience I could imagine (minus the trip to the hospital part).

I've never had a homebirth but do know Joyce and she is a wonderful person - she has the most calming personality. I have a few friends that only want her to 'catch' thier babies!
You know Joyce? I love her

You are so right about her calming personality. I felt completely at ease with her the moment I met her. She had her hands on me the entire time I labored and I'm not a very touchy feely person. There was something magical in those hands of hers and she whispered so softly in my ear the whole time. It was amazing.
