I have talked to Nancy Harman on a couple different occasions and already love her. She comes highly recommeded from mamas here. I think her practice is called Birthwise. But there is another midwife highly recommended, I'm just not sure of her info.
I've used Nancy w/2 of my babies and had awesome experiences. She's wonderful. I've also attended several births of friends w/her (me as friend/doula support) and been v. impressed w/how she works w/women. LOVE her!

I've heard great things about Deb O'Connell as well. She just opened her homebirth practice, but had been at UNC for quite a while and in VT before that.

The midwife in Garner also has a very loyal following and is also v. experienced.

We are lucky to have great options here!

PM me and I can give you the cpm in Garner's info. She is awesome. Both Deb and Nancy are great as well, but much further away from you. I also travel to Garner if you wanted to meet me, but it would depend on how fast you birth ;-)
also, please consider coming to the Homebirth discussion on July 11th in Durham - both Nancy Harman and Deb O'Connell are supposed to be there, you can here them speak and see if either one of them might click for you. They are both awesome, but they have very different styles. The midwife in Garner also gets rave reviews.

The homebirth discussion presentation is posted in another thread.
DS2 was born with Deb O'Connell in March. It was a fantastic experience and I'd highly recommend her, but with your location, the CPM may be a better option

I'm out of state now but saw this thread and wanted to highly recommend Deb.
