I have a close friend who has decided to homeschool her two children next school year. They are going to be in 2nd and 4th grades, and she and I are both curious about the different homeschool curriculums there are out there. She hasn't done much research yet, but she wants to stay away from a curriculum that is religious.

Could you give me any information about curriculums, what you've done, what you like/dislike and why, and anything else you'd like to share. We'd both appreciate it.

TIA

Hi! I just want to say I was really inspired by The Well Trained Mind I have yet to figure out what sort of style of hs I will fall into, but this book has some interesting information.

I know I am not the type to buy a box curriculum, it seems too limiting in its offer. It seems easy and organized, but I am sure I could weed out stuff for later use that isn't interesting yet and forget about it and make a huge mess out of something that is supposed to be simple

Try checking out rainbowresource.com for a catalog, it will all become clear as mud

I don't have much experience with other cirriculums but we are using Calvert (www.calvertschool.com) and are happy with it. It's a fairly popular one.
