As my sig says I am researching the whole homeschooling thing right now, and have accumulated a lot of useful information. However, the most useful thing, I think would be to start getting connecting to other homeschoolers in the area.

My dd is only 2.5 but we have already started getting questions on which preschool she will be going to and have we registered yet?
Any suggestions on how to get started would be appreciated. I have been dreaming that maybe one day I could actually visit someone for a day and see how they 'do homeschool' in their own home. Do people ever do that?

Who here is homeschooling in Iowa? ( I am in Windsor Heights, FYI)

Sarah, there is a HUGE unschooling group in Des Moines. They meet every week at a local park. There are two e-mail lists for people who unschool or who are interested in unschooling:
