Last night I asked DH to pick me up another tub o' honey from Trader Joes (for face washing, leg shaving and cause I really like honey). Each tub lasts me about a month but dh didn't want to buy it because I might get pregnant this month. Huh? I mean, I'm glad he has a hunch (I'd like to get pregnant this month, too!) but is it really necessary to give up honey while pg? He even wants me to stop washing my face with it. I know it's bad for babies, but pregnant women, too?

First- I am intigued- how does all this honey business work? You wash your face with it? Does it really work? How are you not all sticky? What are the benefits? I would love to know more!!

As far as the risks go, I never remember having to avoid honey when I was pregnant. The risk is salmanila, I think, because it isn't pasturized. I still ate peanut butter and eggs while I was pregnant and I highly doubt that by putting it on your skin you would get sick. I am not expert though- it is just what I figure.

I see nothing wrong with using honey while you're pregnant. Botulism(sp?) is the reason you aren't supposed to feed it to infants but as for yourself...I ate honey, PB, sushi(and even the raw stuff while I was pregnant...but then again I say anything in mod. is fine for me
Take care,

Honey is fine while pregnant. Your system processes it so that no botulism gets to the baby.

It's fine. Raw honey is even better.
