FF gave me crosshairs! I may have even had EWCM. It was a couple of days ago, but I brushed it off because I'm still spotting. Now I'm searching my brain to see if I can remember what day it was. Can you have EWCM and ovulate even when you are still spotting after a m/c? My LP is anywhere between 10 to 14 days long, so I guess I'll see what happens within the next two weeks.

Can I use internal menstrual products for my first period after m/c? I *think* my best friend (also a midwife) told me to hold off on them for my first pp period. She is super busy working overnights this weekend, so I haven't bothered her to double check that info.

My midwife wants me on progesterone because I've been in a deep depression. She says it's post partum depression, which I experienced after ds was born, and that she has seen wonders in women who supplement with progesterone. I'm ordering a natural source progesterone called Progest-E. Hope it works!

Thanks Jess - I hope it's not the same threadkeepers luck I had last month (a "chemical" pregnancy).

Oooh...I'm not waiting to know. I think I'm still waiting to recover fully. Can we have a "waiting to be ready" section? I'm going through one or two cycles first before officially TTC. I want to get back into the swing of things with charting and to see what progesterone does when I get my supplement.

I can be moved to waiting to O. Really annoying thing is though, we won't be able to TTC this month because I have surgery next month. I'm getting frustrated... there is a chance that we'll never have children. Things keep coming up!

My due date was going to be on Friday the seventh. Two days before Mother's Day. I want to drink this whole weekend into oblivion! I thought I'd be expecting again by now and my due date wouldn't affect me this much but now it's excruciating...

Aunt Flo showed up today as I was trying to enjoy a nice relaxing train ride by myself. Now I have to go to work crampy and bleeding, trying not to get all depressed and mopey again. Sigh. I used to love getting my period every month because it meant my body was a capable, well-functioning machine; now it says exactly the opposite. I hate being defective. Especially since I don't know why.

I'm 12 DPO and waiting for AF. Tested again yesterday morning and it was a BFN.
I swear I saw a little spot of brown CM yesterday which means spotting is coming and AF soon to follow. My temp is still up but since my body likes to play mean tricks, it generally stays up until spotting or AF has shown.

This might be a good places to ask this question. We've been TTC #3 since July 2009. I got pregnant in November and lost the baby in Feb. This is my 3rd cycle post MC. I'm 38 and would like to get blood work done to rule out any thyroid or hormone issues, I really don't want to wait too long as I am kind of old, let's face it. Would doctors consider that TTC for 3 months? or 10 months going back to last July? I think it will make a difference at how seriously they take it and how likely it is insurance will cover testing.

I think it really depends on the individual doctor. That being said, 38 is certainly considered "advanced maternal age" (this coming from one who's practically a fertility senior citizen at 39), and I do believe most, if not all, doctors will take this into consideration when it comes to testing.

My doctor didn't hesitate to order all manner of testing for me after my second mc this past October. I already have a thyroid problem which is being treated, so he wanted to see the latest bloods for that, plus had me get a battery of tests for clotting disorders, etc. Insurance covered it.

I think you should go for it and request those tests. I'd even go to more than one doctor if I didn't get cooperation the first time around.

Good luck!

Michelle - When I started going to an RE I told them that we had been trying for 15 months including months where I was pregnant and lost the baby. I think most doctors would probably do the same.

Thanks for your responses. I'm going to call my midwife once I'm on CD1 with real flow, I'm 12DPO and no I'm not pregnant so just waiting it out. I hope she can order the tests for me, actually I might call her this afternoon once my kids are napping and see when she would need me to come in. If I recall they want you in on certain days for hormones tests? My chart appears to tell me I'm Oing (half the battle) and I've had charts last year where I wasn't which I assume was due to nursing. I'm really really nervous that they test my FSH and tell me that I don't have any healthy eggs left. I'm not sure I can handle that....

Good thoughts to everyone this month!

AFM, I think my body is trying to O! I can't temp because I'm nursing my 21 month old and getting up at night with her, but I'm seeing cm signs that I think are encouraging. Problem is, I've been seeing those signs on and off since a week ago--not just the usual 2 days of ewcm I usually have. Also, my last two cycles have been 34 and 35 days long, longer than my typical 30 day cycle that I've always had. Ah! Feeling hopeful and should know something by next week. Any thoughts on why my cycles are suddenly longer after years and years of 30 day, very regular cycles?

Michelle - I think you should tell them you've been ttc since July 09 and you had a m/c in that time period. They should see you because of your age. My sister had her 2nd baby at 38 but her FSH levels changed drastically between 38 and 40. There's also the book The Infertility Cure which a lot of people love.

Nothing too exciting here - I'm on cd 3. I'm taking Vitex and B6 this cycle b/c of my 8 day luteal phase last cycle.
Had my acupuncture session yesterday and I've definitely got some thryoid/adrenal issues. Went to my pcp this morning and am scheduled for a thyroid u/s tomorrow since she feels some enlargement on my left side and I have a family history of thryoid/goiter issues. Bloodwork too. I'm also trying to get into see my ND this week since I'm worried if I do come up as hypothyroid that I'll be stuck on Synthroid my whole life. I definitely want to go the more natural route if I have any say. Off to research hypothyroidism and goiter some more.

Can you please add my chart to the list? http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/17cdfa

Re: the possible hypothyroid issue, I just wanted to mention a couple of good sources of info. Google "Stop the Thyroid Madness (there's also a book by this title) and thyroid.about.com and/or "Mary Shomon". I used these to lead me to an excellent holistic doctor when (after gaining 30 lbs, losing a bunch of hair, and feeling constantly exhausted) I realized I needed treatment. I knew I wanted to take the natural route after I watched my mother use Synthroid for years--without success. My protocol includes armour thyroid (which I get from Canada), vitamins and other supplements to promote thyroid function. I've lost half the weight, my numbers are back in line, and I feel great. My mom and my sister (who was diagnosed with hypothyroid last year) now see also see my doctor and are seeing improvement of symptoms.
