My 14-month-Old DD has horrible diaper rash, the worst I've ever seen. She's had diarrhea for two days now (thanks to the antibiotic she's on), and her bum is so sore and red it's actually bleeding in one place! I've tried everything I can think of, including letting her run naked outside, but it's just getting worse and worse. I don't know what to do anymore. She's miserable.

She had an ear infection/fever that lasted for over two weeks and wasn't getting any better at all, was actually getting worse, so I finally decided to use antibiotics. The last time she had antibiotic induced diarrhea she was still nursing and so it didn't seem to be so rough on her bum and she was fine. But she's on soy formula now.

What would work? Thanks!

Try to switch to Huggies and see what happens. We used to DD my oldest and her Dr. told me that pampers are more drying than huggies.
Switching to Huggies cured her diaper rash dilema that we had after diarrhea.

She should get some probioticc in her, to restore the health of her gut. Miso soup might do the trick as well. I use herbozinc cream and it works really well. But more importantly restore the health of her body (using probioitcs, no sugary, cold, or raw stuff for a while) and the bum will follow suit.

I'll send healing thoughts,

xo

When my DD started teething she had a horrible diarrea and a really bad diaper rash and her pediatritian recomended me to use lots.... tons of Vaseline just for those terrible days, it worked great. Her skin is super sensitive and got healed really quickly. I usually use Calendula cream but for emergency situations I use the Vaseline.
I hope she feels better soon

Posting late but my DS gets the same way when he teeths and the best cream we fould was neosporon (sp) cream or triple antobotic cream (store brands). We use it on cuts with bandaids and it worked great on the open diaper rash wonds too. Note to cloth diaper users - neosporon will stain cloth, found this out when my DH got his tatoo.
