Well I got 17 weeks left so I guess I better start thinking about it, lol.

I'm excited because this hospital is NOTHING like the one I had my son in! They have jacuzzi's although you have to get out to push the baby out but I can labor in there as long as I want. All the rooms are private and they're supposed to be really geared towards natural birth with all the birthing balls, stools, and stuff! My doula's gonna hook me up and get one of her midwife/doula friends to give me a awesome tour.

Hmm.. Guess I should decided when to do it... 8 or 6 weeks before my due date? *thinking*

That sounds awesome!!!! If I ever had to labor in a hospital, I would want it to be like that

That sounds a lot like the hospital I'll be birthing in. I know how excited you must be! It's so hard to find hospitals that are actually NCB-friendly and encourage MW's and doulas! You're reminding me that I need to add the tour to my list since our childbirth classes aren't through the hospital, of course.

Ha. They'd have a hard time getting me out of the tub to push the baby out....I literally could not even move anywhere when that time came. It DOES sound like a nice place though

I have a friend who labored in a tub after going into labor at 37.5 weeks. The hospital policy was that before 38 weeks, water births were not allowed, but water labor was. Well...when it came time to push, she was literally incapable of getting out of the water, and had her waterbirth anyway.

I wonder what they would do if you refused/were unable to get out of the water- drag you out? That's just crazy to me.
