Houston or Galveston with 2 yo?

424 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  BeachBearMama
Hi,
My dh and I are interested in taking a trip with our 2yo before our new baby arrives in July. We are wondering which would be better with a child his age, Houston or Galveston.

We would love input on good places to stay, eat, and visit in either of those locations.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends on your interests and budget!
Galveston is still working on coming back from Ike- but there's beach, Moody Gardens, Schiltterban...

Houston has tons- Children's museum, zoo, museum of natural science, shopping, etc.

My husband and I own Ocean Oso's, the store and grill in the Pavilion at Stewart Beach, located at the intersection of Broadway and Seawall in Galveston.

Angela is right when she says Galveston is coming back and there is lots to do here with a small child. Plus, we are near NASA in Clear Lake and Kemah if you want to get off the Island for a bit (though I don't know why you'd want to!)

Our beach, Stewart Beach, was voted one of the top 10 family beaches in the US two years ago by tripadvisor.com, one of the world's leading travel websites. We did lose the playground in the hurricane, but everything else is repaired and back open at the beach.

Come on down and visit Galveston!
