Last time around *I* had great plans for telling our families. DH didn't give a crap.

This time, I haven't a clue how I am going to do it, and DH is already asking how we are telling the family (I've known for about 3 hours, he's known for less than 1 hour). I know I plan to wait a few (maybe 3) more weeks.

I'd like to see your ideas!

This will be baby #2. I have ONE idea. I wanna have a Big Brother shirt made for DS and have him wear it around his grandparents and see if they notice. That's my big idea. *sigh*

My mom is coming down this weekend, and I think I'll just tell her the second I see her! I'll be lucky if I hold out til we get in the house! :LOL My dad and ILs we'll have to tell over the phone b/c we won't get to see them soon enough!

I think the "I'm the big brother" tee-shirt idea is so cute.

We are thinking of telling the family on Father's Day. Right now dh wants to teach Cooper to say "I'm the big brother" or some variation of that. We shall see if that goes well. I kinda thought of wrapping a package for my dad with a note telling him to ask Cooper what he is. Or I had thought of the shirt idea too. Anyway, we shall see. . .

I always have big plans but then end up blurting it out to people!!!

With my mother it was kind of cute though, I was sitting in her office with her and chatting about things - I happened to be leafing through a copy of Bon Appetit that was on her desk and I saw a recipe for a fish dish. I'm like "Oh this looks really good! Not sure I can have it though...." She was like "Why? Fish should be fine for you (I've been on South Beach for awhile so she was thinking diet related)" and I said, "Well I'm worried about the mercury." She was like, "Why would you.... *big pause* OMG are you pregnant!" LOL. It was cute.

I thought about the Big Brother T shirt too. I thought I would make it and put somethingg on it like "I'm going to be a brother for Valentines day" Or something like that. My mom's birthday is the 15th and mine is the 18th so I might use our birthdays too. I don't think we are going to tell for a while . It is so hard keeping it in. Ive told three of my friends. I'm just not ready for the questions to start.

What I did for the grandparents was get a picture frame that had 4 windows on it. On 3 of the windows I put a picture of each of my kids and on the fourth window I put a paper that said "Coming soon, Feb. 2005." It was cool 'cause at first they were oohing and ahhing over their grandkids and it took a few seconds for the words to sink in.

I'm not telling them until they ask. That's the way I did it last time, and my mom said it was mean.....until I pointed out that she has NEVER EVER given me a positive reaction when I tell her I'm pregnant. It's not like I'm still 17 - I'm gonna be 30 this year! So anyway, I don't think I'll say anything. Served us well last time.

I just told my family last week while we were on a vacation with my parents and brothers. We're telling DH"s family today (on Father's Day)

I actually stole an idea from MDC to tell my family. DH gathered us all for a family picture and said "everybody say cheese!". Then he said he wanted one more and said "everybody say 'Chiku is having a baby in February!'"
At first, they didn't get it and just repeated it and sort of laughed (the point was that we would get a picture of everyone reacting to the news.) But then they started to get it and DH snapped a few pictures. We haven't gotten them back yet.
