DD self-weaned at 19mo. when my milk finally dried out because I was pregnant again. She was 24mo. when DS was born and she tried for about 2sec. once in a while more out of curiosity, but with that twinkle in her eye, like, "yeah, right. I'm too big for this."

But, the last few days, she's been persistent on trying again. Of course I let her try, though all those teeth can be scary looking! Problem is, how do I teach her to latch on correctly? I know she's not getting anything by the way she's sucking so she just gives up but then comes back to try later. Is it something I should encourage or just shrug and say, well she's being curious about what the baby is doing again?

ETA: Sorry Didn't notice a similar post further down on the page!

Hi, I have no advice, as I am the OP of the other "toddler re-learning to latch" thread. I hope you find what you're looking for. I don't think it is actually going to happen here--it has been about 22 months since my DD last nursed. And I don't want to make trying to do it "right" into a big deal. But good luck to you! I was just hoping that someone had a brilliant idea that I had no clue about...
