Our house is old, not junk old but old, we had a ton of spiders mostly Hobo's when we moved in, who ever lived here before must not of cared about all the cracks that let drafts and bugs in, there is a very big crawl space under our livingroom as someone somewhere along the line added more livingroom on. We have sealed all the cracks we can, but we are obviously not getting them all, this house is old and we will never get them all. Since we did all the sealing we have cut down on the spiders alot, but there are still some, mostly in the basement, sometimes the odd one makes it upstairs, they are mostly Hobo's which are not good spiders, is there anything I can use to get rid of them or deter them?

I am kinda in the same postition. I love spiders, can't stand bugs, so anything that eats bugs, come on in. BUT, we have the hobo spiders too. I usually don't mind spiders, and work really hard for my girls not to be afraid of them. It kinda freaks me out that they can be aggressive and bite. We have them all over our backyard, we have tons of trees and rock walls, makes them very happy I guess. And while I really like them about, I want them gone kinda. I have no clue how to do it though. If i find something I will let you know. My cats won't go after anything anymore. They got a lizard once and I think it turned them off of anything that moved

I asked a similar question a long time ago and got one or two responses pretty much telling me that I needed to make sure there was no clutter out because thats what they like to hide in.
We dont have clutter, but the little 8 legged fellows come inside anyway. Guess I am a good hostess
Anyway, we were actually able to find where they were coming in specifically and we rarely have them in the house anymore. I am terrified of bugs and spiders (they literally can give me a panic attack even though I try so hard not to freak out) so this was a big deal that we had spiders in our house. I hope you can figure something out. Sorry I am not much help!
