Family got a summer cold. We all can blow our noses, but ds can't-of course he's 10 weeks old.

How do I help the boogers move up or down is my question?

Elevation helps him sleep a little better. He screams when I try to suck them out with the ball syringe.

Anyone been successful clearing a nose? What do you use? Is there a better type of syringe?

Love, Kendra

Squirt a little breastmilk up there (well your doctor would probably say saline solution). If just that doesn't help use the snot sucker a couple minutes later.

Good suggestion from Mallory. Sitting in a steamy bathroom for 10-15 min while waiting for the breastmilk to work its magic may also help loosen things up. And yes, you may need to try a different bulb syringe.

Breastmilk in the nose works great. Otherwise, you can buy saline nose drops for infants at the drug store. Just make sure you look for "thimerisol free."

I didn't know about the breastmilk idea but we use a spray called "Little Noses" My daughter is a little nuts, though b/c she likes it and she alos likes to have the boogies sucked out. :
