I'm five weeks pregnant (tomorrow!). I know that everyone's pregnancies are different but I wanted to run some of my symptoms by you guys. Is this all normal?

I'm having twinges and something like cramps but not cramps in my lower abdomen (I might just be hyper-aware). I have super bad gas - burps and f*rts (lol). I have very very light nausea. No matter how much water I drink, I still have yellow pee (usually have clear). I have to go to bed earlier than usual but I'm having a harder time sleeping and am waking up earlier. I'm also having some mid-backaches too.

The lower abdominal twinges are kind of freaking me out. Should I have more symptoms? Or should I be grateful that I don't have difficult ones? I have an appt. next week with my midwife, but that seems really far away.

I'm feeling a lot of anxiety right now...pretty much completely overwhelmed.

Help! Please tell me I'm normal!
thanks
Sounds completely normal!

Are you taking prenatal vitamins? That could cause the yellow pee. But I think urine just naturally has more color during pregnancy anyway.

Thanks!

I am taking prenatals so maybe that is what's going on.

Does the nervousness ever go away?

The only real change I could attribute to being pregnant and not just in my head, was lots of yellow discharge (tmi). I also had breast tenderness early on & I don't normally have that when I'm premenstral.

I had to laugh when I read your post because I thought you were describing me! For a minute I wondered if I had written the post! I am a little over 5 weeks and feeling the same, especially the awful time sleeping!!! Yuck, but I guess that's good preparation for after, right?

Ha! Your symptoms sound exactly like mine, and we're at the same point in our pregnancies, it seems.

That's too funny!

Thanks so much for writing in and letting me know that you are experiencing similar things. It honestly makes me feel so much better. It's our first baby (edd 1/27) and even though I've read a lot on pregnancy, I feel totally clueless now that it's here!

Congrats to everyone else!

It's a continuous learning process. My daughter is almost 2 and I still learn new things everyday .

All your symptoms sound normal. Especially having to go to bed earlier but then not being able to sleep. I was sooooo tired last night but when I got into bed it took me over an hour to turn off my stupid brain and get comfortable . The thing I've found that helps the most is tons of pillows.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

I had the same during very early pg. The sleep will improve (until later in pg), and the cramping I found stopped once I stopped caffeine. good luck, sounds normal to me and congratulations!

I am 6 weeks today and have all the same symptoms! I can't sleep and those twinges freak me out all the time!! I now wake up every morning at 3 am like clockwork and I am up a 5 no matter what. My breasts are sore and I am soooo tired I could sleep all day but I am also running around after two kiddo's...

I can't wait till the first three months are behind me!

I remember the twinges. They happen on and off and I just remind myself that it is hormones and my uterus growing.

I worry for about a second and remind myself that if it doesn't hurt me then its okay.

Hope that helps you.

If your prenatals have vitamin B then it will cause your urine to be yellow. I am not sure why, but I learned this before I became pregnant taking regular vitamins. It is completely normal.

If you are dehydrated or worried about being so look for Dark or cloudy urine, bright almost highlighter yellow is attributed to the B vitamin.

=D

also, I am right about 6 weeks and your symptoms sound right about where I am, I think you are doing just fine. I am counting my blessings that I haven't experienced much severe nausea or m/s....but I won't say I am in the clear.

Sounds like me five weeks ago. I still get these wierd little abdominal pings sometimes. They feel like flashes of runner's cramps.
I had a wicked backache a couple of weeks ago. My chiropractor told me to make sure I walked at least 20 minutes every day. Then he told me to remember to walk. Then he stressed the importance of walking. It's really helped.
The exhaustion got better for me really quickly. If your life isn't totally insane (or I guess especially if it is) try to schedule yourself extra time to sleep. A little bit of excercise helps with that too.
And my insomnia is finally starting to get better! Oooh, that was so annoying.

I'm having a lot of cramps and runny cm - so it feels "period"ish even tho my period doesn't feel like that, and I'm burping and my digestion has changed already and I am feeling kind of churny wobbly in the belly. And then sometimes I do a body scan and everything feels normal and I freak out LOL I'm barely 4 weeks along LOL

It's basically how I recall feeling with my first pregnancy only I didn't put it down to pregnancy because I didn't know, that's until I got really gross constipated and icky feeling and it suddenly occured to me it may be my late period and not all the other things I'd attributed it to (illness, jet lag, pollution in a foreign city lol).

Sounds a lot like me too! I had a lot of implantation cramping and then also early round ligament pain, but never any bleeding or prolonged cramping. I'm sure it's normal! My pee got a distinct smell that went away after the first tri-mester, but not extra yellow. I'm guessing it was hormonal. I had horrible insomnia and felt hyperly AWAKE even before I knew I was pregnant. It was the strangest feeling. The insomnia went away around the time the m/s kicked in (end of the 5th week) and now it just comes when I stress out about the 50 million things you stress about when pregnant!

Good luck!!!!

Good to hear a reminder of what is normal. I'm a little over 5 weeks now myself and I am sooo exhausted. I remember being tired last time, but not this early. The queasiness is just starting to kick in too...: Same goes with the lower backache and occasional cramping. Ahhh pregnancy. I'm already looking forward to the second trimester. That was a breeze!

With my first pregnancy I knew something was different because my chest was, HEAVY. The normaly were soar during my time of the month but this was a completly different feeling. I had grown out of my bra in about a week, and that was before my period was late. I also had cramping, and just the sensation that there was something there. It's hard to explain, I guess it was kind of a heaviness in my uterus too.
With this pregnancy, my breast actually weren't sore at all but I knew I was pregnant a week before my period was due, because I was having the "twinges" and while I was feeding my son, I tried to cross my legs and I felt that heaviness in my uterus again, and I felt like I couldn't cross my legs. I tried to explain it to my mother one day, but she didn't get it. It's a weird sensation.
Also, sorry if this is TMI, for some reason, my underarms sweat, and my body order is very strong when I'm pregnant. I went and took a pregnancy test one day after my period was finally late and the test came back negative, I wasn't concerned because I know my body, so the DR. ordered a blood test and low and behold, I was pregnant!
If this is your first pregnancy, get a book about pregnancy and what to expect, aches pains etc. It will help alot and you won't be surprised by some of the strange pains you will have in that area during th next 9 1/2 months
