I can not get my DH to wear DD. He says that's a "woman" thing. He will hold her all day long, and carry her around in the stores and stiff, but will not put her in a carrier. I am a carrrier addict so I have G.N MTs and RSs that would be DH friendly. I'm just wondering if anyone else has worked through this issue. I should also note that DD is a "high needs" baby. read: she cried ALL day unless she is in a carrier. I am a WOHM and my sitter slings her all day too. Any idea how I can get DH to overcome this crap?

ummm - perhaps you could just allow him to find his own way with his daughter instead of trying to get him to do it your way? It sounds fine if he's willing to carry her around. Is she crying or protesting? Perhaps as she gets older he might want to try different methods, but for now it sounds just fine for him to hold her.

I never told me DH to wear or sling or carry our DD, I just allowed his instincts to work. He ended up using the sling more than I did.

My dh will not use a regular sling. But he is more than happy to put her in a back pack type carrier. He has one that is an army green. He wears a lot of camoflauge (sp?) and it looks manly. It is a snuggli. I know its not the greatest for her spine, or the crunchiest, but he is wearing her, which is the goal. She is not in it for long intervals so I am not too worried.

My dh has worn dd from the start, but he started with the Bjorn, then graduated to the Ergo and now is able to manage a mei tai, with a little bit of help. He wears her when he goes out to the store, mostly, since he needs his hands then. Otherwise he just carries her in his arms. Or, now she sometimes just walks.

My dh will wear the girls in a NN in dark denim. He won't do a wrap, though. I just offered it to him and when he saw me wearing them and how easy it was, he was all for it. Now he says he would rather wear one and push two then take the triple stroller. Although I think he is under the misconception that this makes us less of an attraction.
