How did you get to be a WAHM?

I've been thinking about this for a little while. I'd love to do some knitting/crochet/embroidery, but how on earth would I go about selling? What's really involved in getting started, how much work does it actually take and can you really make any money at all? I'm just curious at this point. How did you get started, and what would I need to know before making the attempt?

I got started by doing some graphic work for some friends of mine. Then when they needed a place to host their site, I offered my services.

Do you know yet what items you would be making? If you can find a niche where few other people are making the exact same thing, and then create a desire for that product, you should be able to make money at it.

This site would also be a great place to show off your work (not for sale, of course) and get feedback on your creations.

I got started on ebay. I invested a little bit of money in buying inventory and then I sold it on ebay. I did really well and then decided to launch my own website.
