Baby 1: DH was with me while we waited for the results. Then the phone rang and he ANSWERED it against my wishes! (And it was for me, sigh.) I learned my lesson.

Baby 2: I don't even remember, but I know I didn't tell him until after I took the test.

Baby 3: I woke up in the middle of the night (Father's Day), took the test, and told him the news. He was confused, given that it was so late!

Baby 4: I spelled out "Baby Four" in a Boggle game and asked him if he wanted to play. He didn't even notice it, so I had to ask him to look for something. It took him a loooong time to figure out what it meant, and he didn't really believe me until I showed him the tests. I don't know if he'll want to play Boggle with me again!

With #4 I bought a card that said "Congratulations on your new baby!" and inside I just wrote the due date.

I told him by putting a honey bun in the oven. I was going to say, 'honey the oven isn't working', but he saw it before I was able to say anything. He got it right away!! That was super fun.

#1 - It was a big drama about maybe being preggo maybe not, he knew when I did.

#2 - After I took the test (6 am) he was still sleeping, I pounced on him and told him. He was half-asleep still and said "oh really? that's good..." and went back to sleep (he had been up all night studying). Then an hour later he called me and asked if he was dreaming!

It is our first baby, and we had been trying to get pregnant for awhile, so when I took the test he knew I was taking it and I took it and got in the shower, I made him look in 2 min and he said "well it SAYS positive but I don't know how accurate these things are"

I took 2 MORE tests and he just told me to call the doctor, and said he wouldn't believe it until the doctor said it was positive.

my DH told me. actually, i had a beta scheduled for 9 AM but i bought a test on the sly and took it at 4 am when i got up to pee. it was negative, i was sooooo devastated i went back to bed crying. he consoled me all night long. i went for the beta as scheduled. i asked him to call to get the results at around noon, and when he was speaking to the nurse he said 'positive?' and then when he got off the phone he just looked at me and said "it's positive! now what do you say?!"

We had just been told by a fertility specialist, that I would not be able to have children without severe fertility treatment. I had bought some books on the relevant topics and we were discussing possibilites of IVF etc.

I do measure me temperature regulary, and 3 months later my temperature remained high on day 15. I thought "a fluke". But the next day was still high, and I thought "maybe a little cold"? The next day 17, I went to get pregnancy tests. And on day 18 I finally took a test - at 3.30 am in the morning

. It was my dh birthday, too! So, I first finished baking the "baked Alaska" for him, took the test and sneaked back to the bedroom, with cake and test and candles and woke him up at 4am to finally share the good news.

Baby #1: I was alone, it was a Tuesday, and I randomly took the test. It was positive (I was shocked). I went up to Old Navy and bought baby socks. Then I bought this random card that on the outside said: "I don't agree that you learn something new every day, there are some days when I'm sure I don't learn anything new at all." The inside was blank and I wrote: "Today, is not on one of those days.". I wrapped the socks up with the pee stick and left it on his desk upstairs with the card. When he came home from work I sent him to his office to get me something. I heard him walk in to the room, then silence...then he came RUNNING down the stairs yelling "We're PREGNANT?!" ha ha, I'm getting all teary remembering how sweet his reaction was.

Baby #2: He came home from work, dd was sleeping, and I was standing there holding the positive pee stick and almost crying. He was thrilled, again...I was terrified (dd is only 9 months old). I'm happy now though

baby #1 - over the phone, lol. he was in FL training for the navy & i was in PA, still living with my mom. we were both in SHOCK. well, as in shock as you can be after having unprotected sex a week after going off the pill .... lol!

baby #2 - i wanted to do the "big sister" shirt thing, but we were on vacation and he MADE me test in front of him, lol. party pooper!

baby #3 - i p'd oas right before ds's 2nd birthday party & forgot about it until after. we looked at it together after, but is was faint & we weren't sure if it was an evap. the next 3 tests were barely there either, so he said we'd try again later & left for a few weeks (navy stuff). the next day i tested again & it was much darker. i emailed him, lol!

baby #4 - i was in shock, we weren't trying & only weren't careful once (which is all it's taken each time, lol!). i took a digital test & was literally stunned when it said "pregnant." i was a bit shaky & took norah downstairs and told her to hand it to dh. she ran teh other direction, but he got the point, lol.

The first time: I'd been temping and was on day 15 of a 12 day LP, so I was already pretty sure. He hovered while I peed and the test turned dark pink instantly. He was reading the instructions and said, "We're supposed to wait 3-5 minutes." I held up the test and told him, "It's not going to get any pinker!"

The second time: I didn't know I was pg until I miscarried.

The third time: I was spotting and suspected I was pregnant and the pregnancy was in trouble. He watched while the test turned light pink. I miscarried a week later.

This time: He told me! I was pretty sure, again, but the tests were coming out negative or just barely, maybe, kinda positive. Finally we broke down and bought a digital test. We watched as the little timer came on, then I set it down and finished peeing. He picked it up and said, "Your pregnant."

I've always sort of wished DH was the sort I could surprise, but he would be so disappointed if I thought I was pregnant and didn't include him in the testing process. One time, several years ago, I was afraid I was pregnant, but wasn't sure. I took a test in the middle of the night and it came up negative. I happened to mention it the next day and he was all upset that I'd test while he was asleep.

Hope you don't mind me copying and pasting from my livejournal..

I found out at about 10am yesterday. I immediately called Mitchell and told him he should come home for lunch (he normally stays & eats at work). Luckily, he was up for it. I made him a grilled cheese sandwich and some soup .. and being slow like Mitchell is, it felt like he was taking foreverrrrr to finish his lunch. Once he finished the darn sandwich, I couldn't take the suspense anymore and gave him a gift bag with a little bracelet box in it. I told him I had brought something back from Texas with me. When he opened the box and saw the little stick that said "Pregnant" he just looked up at me with this got look on his face. Then he looked back at the stick, and then he just started laughing. Excited / nervous laughter. And then a HUGE smile spread across his face and he hugged and kissed me. He's been so excited since that point (if not a little scared as well). And to think...he thought the box was going to have beef jerky in it! Surprise much? LMAO

i took the test while my dh was at work it turned + so i called my best friend and asked for advice we went to wal art to get a card and she said she would take my DS to dinner with her so i could take him out to dinner and surprise him well.. i posted it on the board b4 he came home and forgot like a dumby to close the site hehe so when he came home i said lets go to dinner just u and me i was getting rdy he comes in the bath room alll exited ARE WE PREG!!!!! I WAS SO MAD HEHE so i said heres yer card party pooper
