I'm brand spankin' new to dying and I'd like to experiment on some cloth (hemp and/or unbleached cotton) diapers. I like this effect and I was wondering how it's acheived. I also like the method that Elliebelly uses that they call crackle dye. Also, what type of dye do I use for these materials? TIA!

It's called Low Water Immersion Dyeing. there are some great books on it. Dharma Trading has some. Do a google search and you'll probably find tons of info on it.

The type of dye depends on the fabric. For cotton, you want Procion MX dyes (also called fiber reactive dyes).
