My poor baby fell down the ladder on the bunk bed this morning (which should have been removed after discovering he could climb it). He bit through his tongue pretty badly and from what my husband said (I was dropping the other boys off at school) there was blood everywhere. We're back from the ER and Nathan's fine, just has a really sore mouth.<br><br>
Anyway....there is a lot of blood on one of our brand new LHC AIO's. I have no experience with getting blood out of clothing so I am not sure what I can use that won't harm the PUL. I haven't done anything to it yet.

Cold water! Soak it ASAP and it should be fine!<br><br>

If cold water soaking doesnt get it out try just a touch of Oxyclean on JUST the blood spots. But do this before you wash it in warm or put it in the dryer. I know OC is a no-no on dipes but I have used it in extreme cases (like spaghetti sauce on a new PPR monkey print beccabottom pocket <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/jaw2.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="jaw2"> ) and it worked wonders.<br><br><br>
Hope it comes out and that your babe isnt feeling too bad! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/shy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="innocent">

<i><b>HYDROGEN PEROXIDE!!</b></i><br><br>
It gets blood out of anything. Try the cold water first, though. But Hydrogen Peroxide is awesome. Just put some on the blood spots and it will bubble. Blot with a paper towel or an old (clean) rag. Works wonders. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

Does peroxide work on old blood? :puke<br>

to use saliva. It has to be the saliva of the person who's blood it is. So if you can get him to drool (or *gasp* spit on the diaper ) , the enzymes in the saliva are supposed to break down the blood. Sounds weird but it has worked for me when I've bled on my own clothing. Follow with a cold wash and use peroxide on any remaining spot.

I was going to suggest cold water or peroxide also. I hope Nathan feels better soon <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/hug.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="hug">.

Yup, it does! At least it has always worked for me. I'm not sure if I ever washed anything in hot water and *then* tried peroxide. But it's worth a shot! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Poor kid can't suck or swallow well so drooling isn't a problem. It looks soooo awful <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad">

The peroxide worked like a charm, didn't even harm the colored stripes in the diaper. After it's washed I'll see if I can do a before/after picture <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>
Here's a picture of my poor baby (of course he's smiling for the camera though) it's kinda gross so if you're queasy don't look<br><br><a href="http://img63.photobucket.com/albums/v191/taraseeva/Nathans_owie/nathantongue1.jpg" target="_blank">Nathan's owie</a><br><br><a href="http://img63.photobucket.com/albums/v191/taraseeva/Nathans_owie/nathantonguecu.jpg" target="_blank">Close up</a><br><br><a href="http://img63.photobucket.com/albums/v191/taraseeva/Nathans_owie/nathantongue2.jpg" target="_blank">Smiling again</a>

Oh my goodness, that looks awful, poor guy. I know the agony of biting my tongue just a little, that must've been bad. Poor thing.

Poor little guy. Kids sure are tough though. Glad he's okay, and I'm glad the diaper is too. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">
