I've tried a cleaning stick but it didn't work well for me; is there another way?

Hrmm....I don't clean it very often. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/redface.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Embarrassment"><br><br>
When I do notice build-up I honestly think I just used my typical household cleaning spray (Dr. Bronner's liquid castile soap, purified water, TTO, Borax, vinger mix) and wetted a terry washcloth with it. Then ran back over it with a damp washcloth and dried it.

If you have gunk from stitch witchery you can rub a dryer sheet on it while it's warm and it will come off... otherwise, I've never needed to clean it.

If don't use any "helpers" you probably don't need to clean it, but I used this iron for my military uniforms so there is a lot of starch build up in addition to the last cleaner I (mis)used. I found another thread on this and managed to clean it with a combination of vinegar, dryer sheets, and scraping the gunk off<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> .<br><br><a href="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=668942" target="_blank">http://www.mothering.com/discussions...d.php?t=668942</a>
