Stupid question, right? But since having DS and having my shoe size change I'm not sure anymore. I bought this AWESOME pair of Dr. Marten boots. They only had 1 color (not my preferred color) in what I thought/think is my size. They are so cute and comfy, but sometimes my toes hit/touch the front/side of the shoe. No discomfort yet, but I'm not sure if they are too small. They don't have the next size up. I love these boots, but not sure if I should keep them.

What is your rule regarding shoes? How do you know they are ok?

They shouldn't pinch across the arch, compressing that area of the foot in any way, and your toes should never be hitting anything, front or side (this is one of the reasons I don't wear heels).

Yup. They're too small. Sorry!

If the next size up is too roomy, you might be unable to wear doc martens anymore. (Shoes are like jeans: brands work for some but not others.)

If you want something super comfortable, I'm happy to report that I *just* switched to danskos, and I love them. They come in lots of styles.

Good luck!

Ok, I found the boots at another site for the next size up, but they are about $10 more. I ordered them anyway - they are so cute and comfy. I think if I have to question if there is enough room there probably isn't enough room.

I used to have TONS of shoes before I got pregnant. Now I have like a handful that fit. Ah, well. It was actually kind of obscene (though to be fair I still had shoes from high school.)
