How do you rate these factors when it comes to picking a diaper/cover?

Breathability
Absorbancy
Fit
Made by a WAHM
Cuteness
Durability
Trimness
That "stay-dry" feeling
Ease of use
Price
Hyenaness

BTW, I've listed them from most important to least for me. Ronan is a heavy wetter, and one of the reasons I CD is for breathability, so those are up at the top for us. Feel free to add other factors if I forgot any...

I have a heavy wetter so absorbency is at the top. I don't even buy some fabrics like sherpa or flannel because I know it will be soaked in 5 minutes. I also ranked "stay dry" feeling towards the bottom because during the day I change as soon as she wets so I don't buy with that in mind although at night I do add a fleece doubler for the dry factor.

Cuteness(I find plain dipes cute too.
)
Trimness
Ease of use
Absorbancy(I change ds as soon as he pees and a couple of times at night so this one isn't a big concern.)

That "stay-dry" feeling(I don't use fleece so I really don't care about this one.)

I think that is about right. We use fitteds and wool, because they are the most breathable which is the NUMBER ONE reason we are CDing(to save DS's poor butt). Then we only use hemp diapers because they absorb the best for us. Then it must acutally fit him, LOL. It needs to be in our budget or I just cant get it. Since we use hemp I know they are pretty durable, but I look at the durability of the WAHMs sewing. I dont really care much if they are trim but it is a plus. I ONLY buy from WAHMs because they have the best picks best prices and best fabric. I can always figure out how to do a diaper so it doesnt matter if it takes a minute or a week to learn how to work it. I have fleece liners so if I buy an all hemp diaper I just lay one in. Everything looks cute when it is the right price! And hyenaness has never meant anything to me.

hmmm, i'm sort of struggling with cd'ing factors right now. i love using natural fibers, but am now feeling guilty knowing that the wool fabric is not kind to sheep. so generally...

Must haves...
Absorbancy
Trimness
Fit
Quick Drying

Like...
Natural fibers
Breathability (use the occasional PUL but generally everything we buy breathes)
Made by a WAHM (or homemade)
Durability
Cuteness

Consider, but doesn't affect my buying too much...
Price
Ease of use

Don't care about...
That "stay-dry" feeling (although I just recently discoverd silk liners for night)

Absorbancy & Fit - go hand in hand to me
Ease of use - because if they weren't easy then DH wouldn't even attempt to CD when I'm not around
Trimness - because Chloe is on the small side I want something that's not bulky
Cuteness - just cuz!
Durability
That "stay-dry" feeling & Breathability - as a former 'sposie user these go hand in hand to me
Price
Hyenaness
Made by a WAHM - I'm not really sure how to rate this one, but I know that I wouldn't buy any CD's what aren't WAHM-made!

These are the TOP 5:
Absorbancy
Fit
Durability
Trimness
Price

These i honestly dont care much abt. in this order:
Cuteness--i think they are all cute
Ease of use--they are all easy
Breathability--i change often so doesnt matter too much
That "stay-dry" feeling-ditto
Made by a WAHM--as much as i'd love to support them its not a factor just a bonus
Hyenaness - if it were up to me thsi wouldnt even be included on the list. i couldnt care less

This is hard b/c I have different diapers for different reasons. I have the "single pee" diapers for day use where my goals for those diapers are different from my overnight stash. (although overnight diapers can be used in day, most of the day diapers aren't even considered for night). Covers can work the same way...

I'll pay a lot more for the night stash (and travel about town stash, which is the same except I have some AIOs that aren't night diapers). Some of my night stash was bought NEW (gasp
)
Fit-- not as relevant in the summer in many respects, but prefer to maximize trimness and reliable absorbency (who doesn't?)
Breathability-- he's coverless a lot of the day, but I like this for the majority of the time
Absorbancy--a definite plus (and a must in the night/travel stash)
Made by a WAHM--another bonus, but since a lot of my stash is PFs, I prefer to think of "made and/or sold by a WAHM"
Cuteness--not so important, but to be honest I find most diapers cute
Durability-- o yeah, I seek this out
Trimness--well, must not be *that* important or I'd stick to simple PFs and PUL (and I don't do that)
That "stay-dry" feeling-- I use a home-made liner
Ease of use--must not be that important b/c aplix is the easiest and I don't have much (nor do I seek it, unless a great price)
Price--yeah, I'm a TP troll (oopps, bad word around the net... but I do troll the TP
)
Hyenaness-- means nothing, unless its hyenna b/c it meets my other goals. I do read the reviews and my mish-mash stash proves I experiment. Often when I get a hyena diaper, I understand why its so coveted. But if it doesn't work, then I don't want it.
