I'm new to MDC and to gardening. This year is my first garden and it has been so wonderful. I had some melons and the ones I picked weren't ripe and the ones I waited on were eaten by armadillos. Now I'm worried about my pumpkins. How do I know when it's time to pick the pumpkins? Some are big and some are small and I can't tell if they are ripe.
