I never do. My kids will mostly eat stuff at any temperature, and if they couldn't, I'd pack something like a sandwich or raw fruit that doesn't need to be warm. But if I had a kid who was fussy about something like that (and believe me, I KNOW about picky kids!!!
) I'd heat it at home, and put it in an insulated thermos.

Yeah, I'd say pack cold stuff like PB&J sandwiches and fruits. My kids don't care if I feed them warm stuff. Most of the time when I serve them warm food, they don't end up eating it until it's cold anyway. *shrug* I never even heated babyfood or formula for them.

I've never even thought about that! They do sell little coolers for the car that can either keep things cool or warm.

I did have a toddler (my 2nd child) who had to drink his milk warm from a sippy cup, so when we were traveling to CA we had to stop at gas stations and run in and use the microwave. I vowed to never let a kid get used to warm millk after that, and it hasn't been an issue with the last two.

I just don't take food that needs to be warmed... 90% of DS' food is cold anyways (or at least, it certainly is by the time he gets around to eating it..), so I just don't worry about it. when we go out mostly he just snacks on cheddar/graham bunnies, cheese, crackers, raisins, craisins, etc

I agree to the PP. I don't take anything that needs to be heated if I know I can't heat it but the Thermos are a good idea. heat and take it with you. Though I know my DD will eat a lot of things room temp. I've seen those foil bags for hold or cold food too.

OR just don't go to the park during eating time? Or if you do, bring the things that your child will eat cold/ room temp.

DD eats table food.
The playgroups are usually held from 10:30-12:00 in the parks, it's lunch time. If I drive home, it'll be late for her lunch. She also eats very slowly. Because of this, I has missed a lot of play groups.

BTW, how do you avoid spoiling food in summer?

I don't generally care around spoilable food. Maybe try taking a cooler for fruit/yogurt/applesauce... Our playgroups are from 10-11:30 and provide snack, so I don't generally worry about lunch so much on those days.

What do you want to be taking with you that you need to warm? Or that would spoil??

We don't go out only once a week. If I can deal with her food, we will go out about 3 or 4 times in the morning.
I want to take warm food for lunch and spoilable food for snack, depending on what time we are out.

We go out several times a week as well and it is just not a problem, I'm not sure why this is such an issue for you? If you want to bring warm food then get a thermos like container, if you want to bring cold food then get a cooler....I'm sorry, I'm just not seeing what the issue is....

I just bring along foods that don't need to be heated. There are lots of options, some of which your DD probably likes. Why make things difficult on yourself?

Whatever kinds of fruit and vegetables your daughter prefers, yogurt, raisins, hummus and pita bread, pb&j sandwiches, granola bars, burritos, crackers, cheese, sliced or shredded meat, hard boiled eggs, muffins, ect, etc, will all do just fine in a small cooler or insulated lunch box for an hour and a half. Take something that doesn't need to be heated the 3 or 4 days you are out of the house at lunch time and eat hot foods the other 3 or 4 days of the week.

My LO likes warm food so I really need to warm it up, otherwise she'll have to eat at home.
Thanks.
we don't warm it. You could warm it before you go and store it in a thermos lunch bag.
