My Dd wants me to stay in bed with her until she's ready to get up. I used to be willing to do that, but I won't do it anymore. The thing is, she doesn't want to be in bed alone so she gets up with me and is very, very cranky and crying and clinging.

She can't go to bed earlier or she'd never see her papa. I'd like to be able to get up and let her sleep later. Any ideas?

No chance of sneaking out? What about encouraging her to go back to sleep on the floor or a couch?

It's strange how I can sneak out in the evenings, after she has gone to sleep. It only takes her 10 minutes to get down, which is better than the few non-cosleeping 4 year olds I know; but, in the mornings, she literally grabs onto me and won't let go - in her sleep. If I stir at all, even to read a book, she is awake and doesn't go back to sleep without me.

So, we've started getting up, but it's making us both miserable.

No advise here, just in the same boat as you! Actally, my 4 yr. old wakes up at 5:30 and won't go back to sleep and ends up waking dh and I up - then is fairly tired/cranky by the time it's time to go to pre-school : I hope you get some good advise - oh, and I do know the clinging on in sleep thing- dd does that sometimes at night when she's first falling asleep.... can take an hour to finally sneak out of bed!

my dd is just the opposite. She won't sleep long at night without us in bed, but I can usually get an hour or so away from her in the morning, though sometimes she yells for me, I run in and she's still asleep. Other times she's yell, I'll run in a cuddle her to sleep, but I usually only get 1/2hr more sleep from her.
