I know we have been discussing my nightime diapering woes for some time. I just ordered some Little Beetles and 2 Tots Bots Red Raps. I have a lot of difficulty also because I like our nightime system to be uniform. DH get Z ready for bed and he is wholly confused by more than one uniform system. I have had to use a sposie for the last few nights and it is driving me INSANE. We never use disposables and it is really grossing me out. That being said, until my new system arrives that will hopefully end all of this (I have high expectations for this one), I am going to try something new tonight. How about a premium unbleached PF with an SOS fleece topped doubler trifolded in a BSW windpro/micro XL cover. I say trifolded because I figure this will put the most layers in the wet zone. Any opinions?

I snappi a premium prefold with a regular trimmed prefold folded into thirds and a fleece topped hemp doubler. I put a fuzeasy over all of that. It sounds like what you are doing tonight will be a similar amount of layers. It works for us really well. I hope it works for you. It sounds like enough layers to me.

Meg.... it was fate that I read your post, because I was just looking at the Little Beetle dipes for Jenna for nighttime! :LOL

You will have to let me know what you think of them.... I am so looking for something for Jenna. I like uniformity, too. DH just looks at me with a blank stare when it comes to coming up with combos on his own.

nak...Just wanted to say that LB are great for night time. We use a doubler and a fleece liner. And we've never had a leak!

The only problem I have had with trifolded things (as opposed to a fitted diaper that has trifolding inside it) is that boys have a tendency to, ahem, shift around at night and can peek out of the trifolding and then blast away at the edge of your cover. Big river, big leak.

With a fitted diaper, the boy can't shift so that he's pointing straight at the leg of the cover-- the fabric around the hips prevents that.

I was able to do WIO's with trifolded soakers until Noah was about a year old, though-- so he may still be young enough to not have the side blasting problem.

Good luck-- do you have any wool liners? Those can help everything absorb better.

I've been thinking about trying the Little Beetles too, I am hoping they will fill in the cracks of not having enough Nightlights.

For tonight, I've noticed that Jack tends to "shift" at night too and one side of his diaper is always wetter than the other. I like the idea of an infant prefold trifolded into a premium prefold and then snappied on, then put the cover on top of that.

We get the shifting too. :LOL I put ds in a snappied premium cpf with a tri folded infant cpf. Then I either put mama made LTK Longies or an Aristocrat over it.

Good luck!
