Zipporah Lenore

(pr. zi-POR-a)
Lenore is my gramma's mn

I'm really starting to fall in love w/ the name Zipporah and have been trying to think of a mn for it. Lenore is really the only one that I thought sounds the best so far and I was kinda planning on using Lenore for a mn anyways, to honor my gramma.

I love it! I've only seen it spelled with a T at the beginning, but starting with a Z will definitely make it easier to pronounce!

I LOVE Zipporah! It is on my short list of names, but dh isn't as fond of it. (Apparently my taste in Hebrew names doesn't line up with his.)

I love it-Mn goes really well too.

I think it flows quite well. Will you use a nn?

My dh loves "Zippy". (Obviously for when she's a baby/child) I think it's kinda cute. Other than that I've thought of Orah. Not too many nn's for this name. If you have any suggestions, lemme know!

Well, I don't think nicknames necessarily have to derive in an obvious way from the given name. You may just end up developing a nickname for her based on her personality, something she does, etc. My niece, for instance, is named Marisa. When she learned to talk, she started referring to herself as Manni (pronounced MAH-nee). No one knows why or where she got it from...but now her nickname is Manni. I am sure that my sister did not envision calling her Manni when she named her Marisa...but there you are.

My first girl was named Bethany... her 23 mo old brother pronounced it "Bunny" and I got all gaga over that as a NN... but it never stuck. Instead, the NN that stuck was "Sessa." Because he also called her "My sister" which came out "Ma Sessa." She was called Sessa until just about the time she turned 6, and it sort of faded for preference of her real name.

Just another NN story.

I like Zipporah Lenore. If I have a girl, I'm thinking of Eva Renee... and if it's two girls, Eva Renee and Eleanor Jean.

No suggestions, but I was curious. We seem to always shorten names or coin someone with a nickname!

I like the name, but you might want to check and see the Biblical conotation. I think she wasn't that great of a person in the Bible. Could be wrong without looking it up though, my preggo brain is GONE!!
That is the only place I have heard the name before

I love Zipporah!
I love Lenore!
Zipporah Lenore I can't decide on. I think it feels too sing-songy for me.
